PSN weekly updates

Pacman Championship Edition DX 2 seems pretty good - lots of people raving about it. I don't like everything about it so far (takes the fixed optimal path thing a bit far in some modes), but I only played one mode / level so far. Although I have enough games to play, I got it because I need a game that I can play with my son around and this one suits it well.

One very striking thing about this game: after playing the demo once, I played the same level in the full game shortly after, and I got 5 trophies on my first try! That is one trophy a minute ...

If you like virtual Pinball I can't recommend Marvel Pinball enough. It's amazing. So much better than all the available Zen Pinball tables.

I liked the demo of Funky Lab Rat a lot ! A simple implementation of Move, no "funky" gimmicks here. Like the game's simple visuals too as they don't overwhelm you at all and you can instead focus on working out the solution.

Lets see what sale is put up during the Xmas week, as theres a lot of PSN titles on my wish list as of now.

Has anybody tried Auditorium HD? Hows it ? and Hows it with Move?

Played the demo of Ape Ape Fury or whatever it is called . Downloaded it from the Jap store ! The game seems stupid at first, but then it becomes fun really fast. Before you know it you want that elusive ape running away to be caught too. Nice game, I can understand it not coming out of Japan though. It is too "non-serious" for america. but it is fun when you replay the demo again and again  !

BTW, did anybody try the KungFu Live Demo? WHats in it? Do it guys, its the best game out there ! :D

Modern Combat: Domination Demo out today. A MP shooter with MOVE controls. I would love to chk it out. The full game has 5 maps and costs just $8 ! Made by devs who made Modern Combat games on the IPhone.

Have to see Move implementation. :D

Checked it. Unless there is something I am missing the move controls are impractical and a pain in the ass with this game

I started playing just as you left , I couldn't get a hang of it either. no respawns meant I couldn't try out anything either. I just died before I could figure out how to look around with my Move ! Then wait for the next round to start and repeat the same. They should have allowed Offline Bot play or a shooting range to let people atleast try out Move controls before jumping online. I can see it takes a lot of getting used to, i guess. Patsu did say once that learning to use Move in MAG felt like learning to walk again. I could see that for the 20 seconds I was alive in each round.

And, on top of that, I could join a room(game) only once. it just wouldn't let me in a game after that at all. every time I got the message that the game room is full !! Well, then get me into another room you demo of a game  !

This must be a first FPS experience with Move for a lot of people like me (since KZ3 and SOCOM aren't out yet) and it would be much better if the demo lets us try it out offline before joining a game if the devs want Move users to buy this game, IMHO.

Yeah, I'll wait for Killzone 3 to get my Move FPS on. That way I can just try to finish the single player campaign with it first, allowing me to 'gently' ease into it. I bought Zen Pinball Marvell Edition or whatever it is called, but I haven't even gotten round to trying it. And there's LBP2 to be bought tonight. That with Rockband 3 and GT5 being a permanent game that wants me to play (and Rockband 3 is holding itself up against GT5 surprisingly well in that respect, partly because I have to do more work to set up my wheel), and some games waiting for me on PC as well, I don't think I'll run out of games to play anytime soon. And that means I'll keep Dead Nation on hold until there's online co-op too, by the way - only played the first section so far.

But we also have to keep in mind that even IWaggle said in his MAG 2.0 video that it took him One full day of MAG before he found his feet with the Move controller. He can't imagine an FPS without it now, but I think he too went through the same agony that we encountered after firing up the Domination Demo.

Offline, target practice is the only way to ease in with the Move. I think the demo will turn off more people with Move than make them buy Domination, for no fault of the actual game but the oddness of a new control scheme.

I'll wait for Iwaggle's review of the control scheme before laying blame on the game. But, sure, if there was an offline practice mode, even simple target practice in a shooting range, I could have actually tried out the demo better....sigh!

It can take lot's of practices. For me, it took 2 months before I can use it without feeling awkward. I have seen gamers who prefer Move to DS3 quickly.

There is another interesting Move game, StarDrone, coming up though:

Scheduled for release sometime next February on the PlayStation Store, StarDrone is one of the few 3rd party games developed exclusively for the PlayStation Move. And it's quite an unique game as well, so unique indeed it totally deserved a spot in my "Ten PlayStation Move games to look forward to in 2001" article.

To learn more about it, I've got in touch with Ukraine developers at Orb Games and Beatshapers. Here is what I've found out.

Blog update says there is a DES:Extraction demo, but it is freaking 3.5 gbs  ! Basically, its the whole game ! I presume you;ll get limited time with it.

People with high download speeds, please download it and tell me if it is worth downloading. If it offers just a few minutes of play after that big a download, I'll pass. My poor 40gb HDD is anyways always full. I'll need to delete lotsa stuff to get this in, so its better to know if its worth it.

Just downloaded Shatter before I went to work, it's available for free for EU PSN+ members right now.. :p
Been wanting to get it for a long time, since I heard it's awesome music at; sidhe.bandcamp.com, but never got around to buying it..

And like a million PSP-games.. :)
