PS3 at E3

It'd be nice if promises could be relied upon, but given the Februrary event, the fact someone at Sony says it will happen doesn't mean it will. I expect it to, but a claim it will is no gaurentee.
that is why I said not only from Sony. Sony has confirmed at least Motor Storm being playable at E3. they had a big 'try it at E3' written in the mud in the GDC demo of the game. so that is atleast one, even if it is a private trial.

as for others outside of Sony, I think Ubi confirmed some playables if I am not mistaken. you have to keep in mind that the launch is only 6 months away. some playble build have to be ready. TGS should have even more of them, obviously.

C&VG are reporting that a source from Famitsu is saying that Ridge Racer 7 will be playable at E3...check it.

RIDGE RACER 7 ROARS ONTO PS3

Playable at E3, with 14 player online mode revealed

10:02 Namco is working on a new version of long-standing power-sliding favourite Ridge Racer 7 for the PS3, according to the latest word from out East.

According to our old friends at respected Japanese publication Famitsu, work on Ridge Racer 7 is already well underway and, surprisingly, it's set to make its playable debut at this year's E3.

The latest word is that Ridge Racer 7 is being developed by series producer and PSP vet, Hideo Teramoto, and it's being directed by Masaya Kobayashi with sound duties being performed by Hiroshi Okubuo.

Not too many further details to report, other than the intriguing news that Ridge Racer 7 will roar online with up to fourteen players on the PS3, so severe multiplayer action is certainly in prospect.

Just to note; as long as we get some sort of impressions from playables, it wouldn’t matter if they were private or public. Also, in PS3’s case, a multiplatform game can be shown in its PC or X2 version than PS3. that will be just as good since the controllers are very much alike. It will only differ in Rev’s case if Ninty wants to emphasize the new pad mechanics.

The only issue that some may bring up in PS3’s case are the games graphics compared to the other versions.

That is indeed a good point about private showings versus public, as the majority of us won't be going to E3 :p. Everything would be like a private show.
