Ken: Hi, Can you please look in the instruction manual and let us know what the standard warranty length is for the Playstation 3 is? Is it 1 year like the PSP or 3 months like the Xbox 360. Thanks in advance.

IGN: The warranty info that came with our retail unit states the PS3 hardware is guaranteed against mechanical defects for one year. So yeah, not too shabby.

Now to consider buying the ebgames warranty or not for easy swapping. We dont really know if Sony will charge you shipping or anything yet for their exchange policy, so I'm still considering the ebgames warranty.

Buy it with a gold or platinum card and you get the warranty doubled for nothing.

Only thing is you have to pay for repairs and then get reimbursed. But get preapproval for estimates first.

Live in the UK and regardless of warranty, the law would probably expected something like this to last 3 years and if it fails before then, they have to fix/replace it.
