Does that mean it is still coming out in Europe?

NICE!!! Looking forward to see how this one turns out to be. We need more stylised cool-ish games.

Colins Gay Rally 04 came out in Europe before christmas on the PS2 and according to PC Format it's still on schedule for Spring 04.

it's coming or is already out on ps2 in europe.

rally games don't sell well because of the popularity in the usa , and maybe they decided to release only the xbox version there cause of financial reasons. (less rally games for xbox available)

Colin McRae Rally 4 was released in Europe on September 2003.
edit: It had no internet play capabilities, not in xbox or PS2 (though not sure if it had some net scoreboard in xbox)

oh it's out already...?

i lost count, i thought the last one to have been released was CMR03...

I fail to see what benefits Codemasters would get from only releasing the game for Xbox in the US. If anything they would make more profit if they kept it multiplatform like it's always been... Even if it doesn't sell well, it's still a profit margin... Go figure...

Checked, Colin 04 is out in the UK and has been outfor quite a while. All you'll find around her is comment of "It's better than WRC3" level...

IGN.com said:
January 30, 2004 - In November 2002 Capcom Entertainment announced that it was in development with five original titles for Nintendo's GameCube system. One of the "Capcom Five" was Killer 7, a stylized neo-noir adventure with adult themes. From the very start the publisher stated that -- unlike the GCN-exclusive Resident Evil 4 -- Killer 7 might one day be ported to another system.

It wasn't joking. On its official Japanese website today Capcom revealed that it is working on a PlayStation 2 version of Killer 7 in addition to the GameCube one. No Xbox port is planned.

The publisher said that Killer 7 would ship for GameCube in Japan and America in winter 2004 and that a European version would debut sometime next year. It did not list a firm date for the PlayStation 2 build, however. "Although Killer 7 for PlayStation 2 is scheduled to be released in both North America and Japan, details on the release date have not been confirmed," the company wrote on its Japanese website.

Viva La Resistance :D ... NTSC GameCubes DO work everywhere, feed by toll-free international mail-order. There ARE options ... only sheep bend over ;)

You know the US and Japanese versions could come out 31 December 2004 and the Euro version 1 January 2005. Just because they release in different years doesn't mean they're actually a year apart.

but then again they do most of the times..

look at the final fantasy games on PS2 there years between the jap version and the euro version.

Weird things happening:

Well, you can almost certainly expect it to ship on GameCube before it does PlayStation 2. The Japanese Killer 7 website yesterday posted in both Japanese and in English text that Killer 7 was coming to Sony's console. However, while the Japanese page said that it would only arrive for the Japanese and European markets, the English page accidentally mistranslated some of the announcement to read that the title was coming to North America and Japan. In fact, Capcom has *not* announced any plans to bring the PS2 build to the US. It has only announced plans to bring Killer 7 PS2 to the Japanese and European markets. And it has not specified release dates for either.

On the other hand, the GameCube version of Killer 7 is announced for the US and will arrive along with the Japanese version in winter 2004, according to Capcom. The European build is set for a 2005 release on GameCube.

In other news:
- Kadokawa Shoten announced they have purchased ASCII, the parent company of Enterbrain, who publishes the Famitsu line of magazines in Japan. Kadokawa Shoten is also the parent company of Mediaworks, who publishes the Dengeki line of magazines. Kadokawa Shoten president mentioned that both Famitsu and Dengeki will continue to exist, this move can effecting cut the production costs of both magazines by combining the distribution and storage.

Interesting for those of us who follow Japanese gaming news. Personally I prefer Dengeki's content and review strategy - describing the likes, dislikes and "gaming type" of each individual reviewer.

That means I will now be buying my magazines (Famitsu PS2, Famitsu X-BOX, Famitsu Wave DVD, NewType, and Dengeki PS2) from a single big publishing company than 3. Ha ha !

Is Shueisha (Weekly Shounen Jump) a subsidary of Kadokawa ?

Marconelly, you have a PM.

To put the magazine buyout into context, Video-fenky has an interesting piece on some of the history behind it:
...Looking back at the history of Kadokawa and Dengeki, though, the buyout is extremely ironic in that Alanis kind of way, and I'm sure Famitsu editor-in-chief Katsuaki Kato is wryly smiling in the same way GameSpy staff is right now...
