Program for plotting functions

Can anybody point me to a free application for plotting arbitrary functions (including integrals) with the ability to export images in vector graphics format?

Even better if it can do curve fitting.

Grapher (included with MacOS 10.4) does everything you're asking for (and seems to be doing it quite well — it is quite a powerful application).

Other options (minus the vector graphics export) would be an HP48/49 emulator. Next on the list is gnuplot, but I've never used that...

The alternative would be to get the student version of Matlab, it doesn't cost much and is the most powerful tool you'll ever find.

Thanks, I think I need to check out Gnuplot. It seems to be able to do Gaussians, which would suffice.

I would also check out Octave, since it aspiring to be a Open Source Matlab someday. It's pretty nice.

As for Matlab, it's pretty nice and straight forward to use; plus it is especially powerful if you've have maple as well...
