Although it was intended to be funny, my post was partially grounded in fact. About a year ago, there were murmurs about Microsoft being interested in Transmeta, either as a partner for the Xbox or as an outright acquisition. They knew Transmeta was engineer-heavy but with very little market penetration. They also were very interested in the low power (or, for their purposes, low heat) design of the Crusoe processors. Transmeta is even further along the road these days to a console-type processor with their newest designs. It's too bad they've had so many management problems.
