This was probably covered, but I only just found out how to get 5.1 surround from my PS4 via optical cable when watching Blu-ray movies. Which needless to say wasn't working out of the box. And unsurprisingly, the setting was inexplicably hidden deep in the Blu-ray settings. Not in the System settings but in the Settings you can access while watching the movie itself.

I've had no problems setting the optical output from the system settings, just changed primary output from HDMI to optical and it worked as expected.
Some peeps, me included obvs, would only get Pro Logic out of the thing. Which is, well, it's too early to get mad so I'll be nice. It was like falling off a cliff head first. I would get full 5.1 on games but not movies.
I thought 5.1 support was just broken on ps4 but no.
