Anybody see the irony of chap's position on this issue compared to his position on memory cards vs. harddrives?

I don't think you understand the meaning of the word irony, try looking it up some time.

Guden it's as simple as this, the extre 6" isn't worth it too me, it's not worth trading off the ease of use, and all the other benefits I've already mentioned.

With that said I probably won't even buy this screen for a couple years down the road, when the price drops, but regardless it's a cool feature that could come in handy. As for where I'm gonna use it? It' woulda come in very handy during my Houseboating trip this summer, when we were rained out for 2 days. There was nowhere to set-up a monitor and run wires all over the place, but a standalone 360 with attached LCD screen would've been sweet. Not to mention you also have a 9" portable dvd player.

If you don't see teh value in the 9" attached screen that's fine, but in that case you don't have anything to add to this thread, enough with the pointless bickering.

Well I see it attaches, whoopdeedoo. I don't see that it in anyway stores more easily, for a 9" screen; that thing is frigging huge, it has 3 inches of wasted space on each side of the display. I can get a 15" display that has less than 1" of bezel. It probably wouldn't be much bigger than the footprint of that 9" and will have more than double the screen real estate.

Attaching to the box also isn't necessarily an advantage, you can stand any seperate display on the box if you want, but you can also set it anywhere else (provided cord length), with that 9" you are stuck with it right where it is.
