I love the LCD screen, how cool is that? portable x360, all you need is a plugin.

If I was deployed to Iraq/Kuwait again I'd definately pick up that screen for the X360. I kinda wished I did for my Xbox but I had a LAN PC with LCD and TV Tuner box which was cool but a pain to move around and keep the dust off. It was cool I was able ti manage to do that but I wouldn't do it again.

Maybe a nice gaming laptop and Xbox 360 w/ LCD. Do they make laptops that accept TV in Signals? That's be ideal.

Well the aspect ratio of the screen doesn't look HD to me ;)
Will the silver colored Xbox 360 be available at launch? It looks cooler than the white one.

Doesn't $199 seems a bit high for a 9" display? I can pick up portable dvd players with an LCD display for less money.

id get maybe the 2nd or 3rd one. the lcd is way too small for what the x360 can do, so its just a waste a money to me.

Looking at the top pic I first wondered about it being a curved screen to fit on the concave top. Of course it doesn't fit flush, but then I thought 'how are they going to release this sort of portable screen for PS3?' :D

I caught a rerun of this program on CNBC with some guy named Cramer and he's telling investors to buy stocks of Gamestop because of the Xbox 360 and it'll be released on November 6th.

OMG...

Anything Cramer comments about is usually waay off from what he says (well, OK he isn't always wrong but alot of the time...), just look at some of the crap he's written before.

NASDAQ went downhill 8 days later....

Lots more of crazy stuff that he has written about the recent housing bubble/credit bubble (dontcha know? there is no bubble!! Buy, buy, buy!!) in a similar vien.

Him saying this is practically the financial kiss of death...

Well, considering PS3 looks fugly and ghey when lying down on its side, I don't understand why anyone would want to strap a silly LCD to it like that. :D Better to get a small separate LCD for it instead such as THIS ONE for example.

$199 for a POS 9" screen when you can have a great one for a few tenners more, the choice of which to get is obvious and belongs in the DUH category... DVI in makes it a good match for PS3 also, and the stand for the screen easily collapses and locks in place for transportation.

not really, the idea is to be portable, having to lug a 15" monitor around that also needs it's own power supply, as well as a location to set up the monitor while you play makes it a major PITA.

Instead of one carrying case you need two, instead of one plugin you need two, you have to run wires, you have to play on a table or a bench, it's just a PITA.

I'll take the 9" screen, that attaches, down't need an extra power supply, and can play as one self-contained unit, I'd trade 9" for 15" for the ease of use, portability, and lower costs any day.

One self contained unit, perfect for travelling:

You're making up difficulties that just don't exist. One; the monitor has its own internal power supply, all you need is a cable to a wall socket. No more difficult than to power the console itself.

Instead of sitting there squinting at a substandard 9" screen, you can have a nice large(ish) image to view that will be sharp and bright. And where the hell would you go to play this thing where you can't put down a screen anyway? You can't run the console on batteries (150-ish watts power draw man), and you can't run it on your car's cigarette lighter socket either. You'd have to bring a UPS the size of a minibar fridge to get decent playtime.

Anywhere where you have a wall socket you have room for a screen also. Don't make things more difficult than they really are. If you need to play on the go, an x360 isn't what you need, instead get this...

whatever, the idea of lugging around a 15" monitor with me just doesn't appeal...sorry....seems like a pain in the ass

making up problems? There's no way a external 15" monitor compares to an attached 9" monitor in terms pof ease of use and portability...

with the monitor you need a plug in, close to a desk, so you can set everything up, not to mention set up time requires you to run wires, unpack a monitor, find a place for the monitor, it's just a pain. Not nearly as easy as folding open the LCD, plugging in 1 wire and playing.

Of course you could play it in yor car, buy a 200w adapter for $30.

The idea of lugging around a 15" monitor just to play for x360 seems kinda dumb to me, if it's easy to do then I'm all for it, if it means I gotta lug around 2 carrying cases and do a bunch of set-up, find a desk, etc, then forget about it, I'll leave it at home.

I like the idea of one self contained unit, packing an extra monitor around has ALWAYS been an option, but it doesn't appeal to me at all. On teh other hand, something like an atatched LDC taht you simply pop open, now THAT is easy, light, and painless, excellent for a rainy day on vacation.

Oh god, the hassle of "lugging around" on a separate screen! With CABLES I have to attach, GOD, I'M GONNA DIE!

Do you have your momma chew your food for you also perhaps? ;)

Like I said, there's no comparison between 15" GOOD monitor, and some tiny completely unknown quality screen.

Besides, you pull 200W out of the cigarette lighter socket, you'll be likely to blow a fuse, what car has a 17+ amp rating on that socket? Not sure where you'd put a 360 with a screen strapped (perhaps rather insecurely) to the back inside a car anyway. I personally wouldn't want to have it in my lap, with poor viewing angles and heat output and such in mind. It sure won't fit on the dashboard in most cars, and it'll go a-flyin' if you hit a bump (bad for harddrives and other precision mechanics, you might get scratches in the exterior etc). Not to mention what'll happen in the case of a collision or such, eeww. Don't want a console + LCD come flying at my face, thankyouverymuch...

Get a PSP, the 360 was never meant to be portable.

Are you guys serious? You're gonna try and pretend that carrying around a 15" PC monitor is the equivalent to a LCD monitor that attaches directly to the x360?

Give me a break. One is MUCH easier and more portable than the other.

This argument is ridiculous, if you want a 15" monitor to sit in your closet and colect dust so you can carry it around on trips go hard, not really sure why you bothered to post in this thread in the first place...

15" monitors for $250, am I missing something...is this supposed to be something new?? Do they attach the the 360? Are they as portable? Do they have built in speakers?

The benefits for the 9" are easier portability, less crap to carry around, ease of use, built in speakers, and lower cost. The only benefit to the 15" is a larger screen. I get 46" of goodness at home, and IMO 9" is a great size for portable gaming. I had a 7" DVD player in my car, and 9" would be great for games.

You prefer the larger screen, good for you! I prefer the improved portability, ease of use, plug and play set-up, and lower price point...are we done now?

There's a beautiful little LCD monitor that attaches to the PSTwo to turn it into a 'laptop' style machine. It's very portable and can be run on a car 12v supply. Makes the system something you can readily take on holiday in a little hold-all. I wouldn't take a multicomponent setup. But now with the release of PSP in the UK I'm not sure I'd take a portable PSTwo either ;)

No, "we're" not pretending it's equivalent, "we" know it's superior.

But what the hell are you going to USE IT FOR? Play games on a tiny stampsized little screen like that, no thank you. It doesn't MATTER if it's more portable if it can't be bloody used for anything useful, while at the same time costing almost as much as a much bigger and higher quality screen.

No, yes, no, headphones.

How much do you move around a console anyway? The few times you do why not use a REAL screen for it instead of an overpriced toy?
