Since the topic of physics seem to have been a major one at the GDC I think that it deserves its own thread.

How does one escape the problem of cascading complexity in physics modelling when the management of resources is taken into account? Is there a cut off point where you must cut in with some scripting to stop runaway complexity in order to spare resources? Is it done within the confines of a script, acting as a tool for management? Is it dynamically adjusted?
 
would like to know that to, most of all since there will be different cards with different specs......... but i guess the answer lies somewhere in the net we should find it ourselves
