opening console games' CGs on PC

Legend

Regular
PSOne had a game shark that opens all the CG and music tracks of a game for you to view immediatly. I hoped PS2 would have a similar tool as some of those CGs are gorgeous, and you only get to see them once! the games themselves don't even have a theater mode. what a waste....and you can't keep re-playing a game to see them every time.
so my question is; is there a way to open these CG videos on PC? I tryed and some of them worked, although with no sound.
any help is appresiated.

I encounter the files:
.asf .pss .dat .irx

know anyway I can run/open them?
WMP manages to run the other kinds but without sound. maybe sound is recorded elswhere.

I doubt the audio is ina seperate file. The reason why you arn't getting any sound is that you do not have the proper codec to play the audio. The reverse is common in divx files when divx isn't installed and the audio is in a plain wav file.

It's easy to extract .PPS files since they're "simple" MPEG2 stream. Just use PSSplex, that HappyBread mentioned, if you want a really easy way to view thoses videos.
