OMG the XBox 360 infomercial was lame

I liked when they pimped the xbox . It looked nice. I also liked seeing the other versions that they thought of before settling on the final design .

I hated the intro with fairydust raining on The Killers and the lackluster games. I hope PS3 and Revolution get me more excited than this. Maybe I could take some Viagra to get myself excited over XBox 360?

It depends on what your looking for . If you want nitendo and sony to show you cgi or tech demos then i'm sure you will be more excited by it . If you want them to show you unfinished games u will be just as disapointed.

Who are the suckers who are going to buy customized faceplates for a console? Especially when the 360 emphasizes online, meaning the only people seeing your console is yourself most of the time.

Or probably customized avatars purchased through microtransactions?

I can't believe the level to which you are trying to defend this lame MTV special as well as trying to downplay the fact that MS had better third party titles in development, but chose to show the worst one (PDZ) TechDemos or no, the purpose of these events is to generate interest in the capabilities of the consoles, and even if you have to show simulations with pre-rendering of what you think the final games will look like, it's better than showing something crappy.

First impressions do matter.

personaly i rather see in development games than fake cgi . I don't like to be lied too .

Anyway the games they showed were most likely from some of the bigger companys and first party titles . They all looked fine to me for games with 5 months to go.

I'm not the one that needs to go around nit picking beta games and complaining .

Disappointing indeed. They could have showcased more games, some specs, etc. rather than showing some freakin' mods and all! :devilish: Me thinks the console is rather big  They should also have shown DOA4 for more hype!

some of those games look amazing....
I hope that isn't an example of a 360 game that looks amazing, because that screenshot doesn't even rival PC titles of TODAY, much less half a year from now. It looks like an unreal2 engine-based shooter or something like that. Not even a detail map on the rock the player's sitting on, just a flat texture. Very underwhelming for a next-gen title - if that is what it is.

It's a bad screenshot of UT2004.
I guess hvz just wanted to say he was so impressed by the xbox360 mtv show that he's unable to play the crappy looking this gen games any more.

Are we sure that's not an XB1 game? I mean, how is it evah-lovin' even possible to see "n-gons" in a scene given the poly-fill specs we are expecting in the XB2 GPU???

Gears of War was the most impressive looking title. Full Auto had nice destructive environment, other than that nothing special. I haven't seen the show just the vids that were on bittorrent.

I noticed that they had

this

in the show but they didn't show it as one of the designs they didn't use, it was just sitting in the background, makes me wonder why they keep having it sitting around and don't say anything about it

I thought Hovz had been asked to refrain from coming in here to whine about Nintendo/Unreal/whatever any more?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that this presentation was bad. For me it was _THE WORST_ I have ever seen. I switched to an commercial during the show cause it was so horrible. [ no joke! ]

If the Xbox360 is as bad as the first presentation....

And, I agree with Democoder, the first impression is the most important one. And here M$ failed miserable.

M$ go home is all I can say after this "show".
