NVIDIA GF100 & Friends speculation

Outside of those tests everything else seems fine. Probably just ran out of time to do all the tests, and 10.3 was released when? thats why you won't see all the reviewers using them.

And what are the chances that the reviewers weren't given 10.3 Final sufficiently ahead of time? :D

Removing the Nvidia supplanted noise in the review, my rough calculations

480 12% faster than the 5870
5870 11% faster than the 470
470 6% faster than the 5850

:!:

Load/Idle power consumption is 130W/34W more than the 5870. I didnt translate the review, so no idea about the price.

Or to put it differently, what sense has the GPC designator at all if the schedulers have to possibility to assign the pixelshader work to a SM not belonging to the same GPC as the raster unit that have rasterized the triangles?
Regardless of pixel shading and the potential need to distribute workload across the chip, there's quite a few stages of geometry processing that can be localised to a single GPC.

There are not many other tests done ;)

Dirt 2 is a farce
Batman: AA is a farce
Metro is a farce
Dark Void is a farce

They either forced on AA and PhysX or mixed DX10 with DX11. And even then, some of the HD5870 results look extremely suspicious.

EDIT: not sure but I think it's down now?!

Yes.

After this launch, I'll put together a small list of reviewers worth reading. I have a feeling we'll be able to filter out the spineless after this launch.

Isn't all the geometry processing done at SM granularity?

Pretty sure Kyle, Scott or Anand will not let anyone touch their balls, cant say that about anyone else.

edit: I'm talking about non-B3D sites here Rys. :p

US prices?

It's interesting to see if the cards we will see in public (the ones we can buy) are clocked exactly like the reviewed cards. It looks like the clock speeds were pushed so that 480 is around ~5% faster than 5870 and 470 is ~5% faster than 5850 and this has lead to a quite high power consumption. Like the X800XT PE, it was reviewed everywhere but I don't think we saw that many cards actually on sale.

RobertR1, I suppose you can easily create the first sketch of your list by just checking the driver versions and the reasons why some sites decides to use Cat 10.2 :)
