Wii back to Earth but still leading. 360 saying above 200k. PS3 up yoy for the first time in 9months. The price cut + Slim availability helped clearly. Next month the PS3 should have a good shot at beating the Wii and 360.

Good showing for PS3, both hardware and software wise. Looks like Joker content did well in keeping the PS3 version of Batman very close with the 360.

The price drop+bundles was for 11days. The Slim was counted for 5days. Either way, good showing and it should do well in sept.

I bet the discounted 80/160GB contributed as much as than Slim, they had a price drop for longer.

I can't remember the dates of the drop and slim launch. Very late, weren't they? Last week or something? Slim numbers should push the PS3 ahead in September, by a good margin, I'd guess.

There is a good Halo3 Elite bundle in Canada. I haven't heard if that's available in the USA, but I assumed it was. I don't think that would really keep 360 on pace though.

Not here AFAIK. On Amazon the Elite is #37 and only popped into the top 25 for a few days after the $100 drop. The Wii and Slim have been in the Top ten for a while. Amazon is just one minor retailer though.

For whatever reason PS3 (hardware) has always done well and 360 poorly on Amazon. PS3 steadily beat 360 pretty much always even before the slim on Amazon.

September will be a very good battle because maybe I'm wrong but I'm expecting ODST to push hardware, and OTOH of course a full month of the slim "juggernaut". Too bad we have to wait 5 weeks as it's a 5 week month. And even where Wii places. It's good to have some interesting NPD's again after months of staleness.

Oh and also for what it's worth I'm pretty sure the Elite cut didn't occur until the 29th, last day of NPD. Not that I'm expecting it too boost sales all that much.

Great assertion, any evidence? My memory of the time before the Slim announcement was the Arcade in the top 20 and the 80GB PS3 maybe around 25-35.

What do you want, screen captures??

It's just my memory, I watch amazon charts on a regular basis. PS3 was usually 20-30 over the last several months, while 1-2 various 360 SKU's would reside from 50-down. Maybe others can confirm.

Edit: Arcade was never in the top 20..except maybe some fluke time or right after a price cut maybe or special deal...

Alrighty, who has the YoY charts and all those other LTD figures? ;)

So 1.4M batman copies sold in the rest of the world eh? Good on them. :)

Didnt realize it was today, prolly quiet due to next moths big month when we have
ps3 $100drop + slim --- vs --- xbox360 $100drop elite + halo.

Im guessing next month's will be the first time xbox360 has ever gained marketshare in the US

Not so sure about ODST, who will that apeal to that doesnt already have a 360 and Halo 3? Im sure it will help shift some units but i doubt it will be that significant. ODST is a bit of a funny one really its not too far away but its been relatively un-hyped so far compaed to other halo releases.

Once again, I'm speaking of Canada, but walking into Best Buy, Futureshop and Walmart, they all have ODST ads at the entrance, including on the security gates as you walk in. There's a good deal of advertising here, though I don't want enough tv to know if there have been television ads.

Not that I disagree, but I have noticed ODST in the top 3 at IGN or a long while. 2 right now most popular item on IGN:
