I think the current rumor is that Media Molecule has something to do with the next Home interface.
Such clauses aren't legally enforceable (or even allowed) everywhere. For example, a person has to be allowed to make a living for himself, if your skillset is sufficiently narrow it would be devastating for you if you were unable to practise your trade. So he left this Jan and moved straight to Sony. I guess some non competes are pretty lax or non existent for some devs.

Kaz (or whoever) opens up with: "About that 14+4 CU"
If their marketing department is clever, they'll use the term "special sauce" at some point. The gaming journalists will go wild.It is confirmed to be PS4.

None competes are hardly ever used, they're usually used in conjunction with guaranteed contracts, and the people doing the actually work rarely see those.
I think PS4 could hit in september with GTAV superior port. Sony and MS must be offering Rockstar some money to do this
So still very much case by case basis then. Thought it was all the same for developers and more so for people closer to the hardware.
No if your not a significant executive it's unlikely you'll have one, there has to be something pretty good on the other end of the deal to balance out possible loss of income, guaranteeing the contract is the only example I've seen.
