It happens a lot, and nobody managed to get a cellphone shot of the message displayed on screen? It should be very easy to reproduce a heat sensor warning, just block the bottom vents on the kiosk, wait, take a picture.
 
That won't prove that the PS4 is prone to overheating in normal conditions.
So what one would have to do is steal the whole thing, bring it to his/her home and test it safely ;)

Was this free standing units? Or were they crammed away in the same fashion as the one in the picture?

At watxh dogs they moved us out of the both. In the room they put went into the menus for a few minutes and then it worked. But 15 mins or so later it stopped again. That time we just played a diffrent game

Im suprised no one asked me about the one.
 
Sony has already confirmed that the PS4 would be quieter than the PS3 due to fans being placed at a different angle and in a different position inside the console

They were on a hotel desk next to a tv.the room wasnt crazy hot. I have no idea about when the ps4 was produced . It may have beeb a retail kit or a dev kit. The xbox one was a dev kit

If it's that frequent and the staff didn't freak out, then it's probably a known and accepted issue (e.g., using early test units).

Next few weeks should be fun with more details revealed.

that is why , I haven't made a big deal out of it. I also had an xbox one over heat on me too after playing for 5 hours strait the machine poped up a warning and put it self into the guide and wouldn't launch a game for awhile.

I'm wondering if this is miscommunication and they simply using fans with asymmetric fan blade spacing. Owning a retina MacBook Pro, I can attest to the difference this makes - and that's being close to the device!

I remember seeing a GAF post (a while ago) that mentioned Sony had some heat issues but they got over it relatively quickly. From our point of view, it hasn't evolved that much other than the 8GB RAM and bandwidth change. 8GB was already under development for some time before reveal. I would be surprised if it can't last. It's similar to a PS3 Slim size- and electrical power-wise.

I am more skeptical about general PSN performance and OS stability at launch. ^_^

Crazy, i would expect them to be able to keep cool in that environment.. things are literally about to heat up :)
