New ps3 survey

- Japanese online shop Tsutaya has conducted a survey on which next generation console customers will likely to buy, 66% of the customers would like to pick up a PlayStation 3, and 34% would like to pick up a Wii.

this seems quite diffrent to the surveys right after e3,think japan is warming up to the ps3? or maybe its just a badly made survey?

I don't see a link to the survey. What was the response like? 10 people? As this is asking customers of a store what they want, it's probably a better representation than asking a magazine readership as different magazines attract different types of people. Unless it's a quirky shop that only appeals to a certain type of buyer! eg. A poll on PSM versus a poll at Play.com - the latter is likely to be more represenetative of gamers no the whole.

Also Tsutaya is primarily a video rental store. Essentially the same as Blockbuster in the US. But I guess they do sell some stuff online.

What exactly is the poll? Is it 'which do you intend to buy' (likely represent sales) or 'which would you like to buy' (indicates desire but not purchases) or 'which interests you most' (shows which is the most curious, but may not be the device they intend to buy)? Without exact wording, (ignoring these polls being very limited and unscientific) no info can be gained.

Shifty - why are you always hating on Sony? The poll clearly shows ps3 is the "it" console and will dominate in Japan and Worldwide baby! ps2 v2.0 ATW!

I'm pretty sure TheChefO was being facetious, given of late I've tended to argue Sony's corner more often than not.
