NEW MS internal studio?

Gamasutra has discovered new job postings indicating a new internal Microsoft Game Studios division called Spawnpoint Studios, staffed partly by members of Microsoft's Gears Of War 2 team - might this be the name of the company's much-reported internal Halo development division?... more
....
When contacted by Gamasutra, a representative for Bungie gave a "no comment" answer, and Microsoft inquiries had not been returned as of press time.

Now it seems that the situation is reverted. Sadly, and I mean very sadly, they were closing some internal studios and now they open a new one.... Looks to me they're going to milk the Halo franchise after Halo 3 -which is a bit dissapointing, not a bad game but not perfect either-. I wouldn't mind ias they don't milk it to death.

A Halo racing game made by Rare based on, for instance, Diddy Kong Racing -best karting game ever, imo- would be awesome.

Cheers

I think someone wants to see Marcus Fenix stuffed into a little cart a little too much!

I don't care if they milk the franchise so long as every single game they produce with a Halo name is top notch.

You mean MC ;) And I am shocked, 3 years into this generation, and MS/Sony and pubs on their platform have failed to make a kart game. Sad (for me) and a small example of why they are struggling in the casual market. Mario Kart is one of those cross demographics titles that can appeal to hardcore and casual gamers :(

Kart games are fun, but im not sure if they could resist the temptation to bring guns into it!

But in saying that it is a shame I can drive my Master Chief Kart round the track and beat out my Fenix loving room mate... So perhaps they should seriously look into this!

Maybe, although a "mode" in a Halo/Gears game would work better.

As a straight up Kart game MS, via Rare, have Banjo, Conker, Kameo, and Viva Pinata brands to draw upon. One of these, or a mix, could cater to a younger/casual audiance.

Although, I agree, a sci-fi themed racing/destruction derby/area style game would be pretty hardcore!!

Halo-themed Twisted Metal would work pretty well. Bungie already most of the things they need for it too. Tweak the physics a bit, design a system for weapons, and create some new vehicles and levels and they're good to go.

:D Agreed. He can go shouting things like....

"Damn!"

"I don't think I can count that high"

"We aren't here to sell cookies"
