new Holy Shit Kameo looks so good screens

It's pretty funny because the X360 comes stock as a media centre, connect to all kinds of external devices including IPOD, PSP and PC's, also includes the abilitiy to network with a Window PC machine and do stuff like view/pause live TV, record/playback TV.

So...what was KK talking about? it doesn't make any sense...

What doesn't make sense is your comment. The X360 is filled the the brim with shitty ass, overpriced, proprietary standards. Your little comment about how much connectivity it has all collapses to a single entity: USB. Which is nothing revolutionary, a PC's been able to use any USB storage volume for quite sometime. And as for the Media Centre, not only does it appear to not support various file formats, but isn't there some question about playing streaming materials?

And without even mentioned something like Blu-Ray, 802.11, Bluetooth, etc, lets just say that for the price of Microsoft's 64MB memorycards, I'll be able to buy a 1GB or possibly a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. To me, the man's delivering... he can call the competition version1.5.

Jesus, calm down man,

I was simply stating the XBOX360 is a Media Centre, it has USB 2.0 ports, wifi compatability (not out of box) and an ethernet cord for connection to the PC. That's a media centre pal. You don't need 6 SD slots and 8 USB ports to implement the functionality of a media center.

Like it or not, the X360 is a fully functioning Media Centre. Cry a freakin river.

It can stream images/audio wirelessly, or via USB from a PSP, an IPOD or any other external device that supports USB 2.0(read: everything supports USB 2.0), it can stream audio and video from your PC as well.

Anser these question in terms of Media Center functionality:
1. What else does the PS3's hardware allow it to do that the X360 can't?
2. What FUNCTIONALITY will PS3 be able to do that would validate KK's comments about PS3 being a Media Center, and X360 not?.

It's complete and utter FUD.

X360 will:
  • play your MP3 from any device you have,
  • view images from any camera out on the market today
  • stream audio and images from your PC, either wirelessly or via ethernet.
  • stream video and playback TV w/ WMCE
Sorryu, but with the exception of no streaming video out of the box (which hasn't been confirmed for PS3 BTW) that's a fully functioning Media Centre.

And precisely what would you call BluRay at this point?

Not true. You can move files from the PC as well, which means that you can use any media that a PC can use.

I won't need a memory stick.

Lol, and for 100 bucks, what it would cost for a 1 gig memstick duo pro (or whatever they are called) I'll be able to but a 20 gig hard drive.

Oh sweet irony, a sony ****** calling ANYTHING else "shitty ass, overpriced, proprietary standards".

Maybe you should relax to a nice betamax while listening to your minidisc walkman. Better yet, take some pictures with your memory stick camera or some video with your digital 8 camcorder, dont forget to put the sony-accesory-shoe accessory light on top tho!

I'll be chuckling over this until at least tuesday.

Kutaragi is lying mental patient. He's the reason every video game trailer is now preceded by "and btw, this is IN ENGINE".

well that's calling a spade a spade. Anyway back to the topic. I think kameos graphics looks great. I don't see what ther eis to complain about. you either like the style of art or not, but it's certianly not something technical that makes it look the way it does. I've said a million times before, both PS3 and Xbox 360 are capable of teh same graphical effects. the only difference will be how fast one is at performing the imporant tasks. art style has nothing to do with hardware this generation.

I'm not a developer so i cant really speak on the technical side but from my standpoint regardless of whether you like the cartoon style this game seems very impressive from a technical standpoint. I think a lot of peopl e are confusing style with quality which is a shame.

Personally I think the pics look great. I wasn't at all interested in Kameo before E3, but since then, it has steadily impressed me. I've pretty much decided to buy this one now.

Hey expletive, it's me: MR

I totally agree with you and I think most of the reasons why people say games look like crap now a days isn't because of the technology, but because of the art direction. Although most people think "I don't like this, this system is crap"

Saying that does not help the tread. If he was a mental patient then why is he called the Father of the Playstation. Which is the best selling gaming console in history. But me even pointing this out is not helping this conversation so...

I think this game looks super super great. I can easily see it at a 10 level as far as graphics go.

This is the best picture to me

Just look at the beautiful water. It make you want to

Well, the mental patient part was just for a laugh (maybe i'm the only one laughing) but the misrepresentation of game trailers, happened under his watch so i'm holding him responsible for that (and the "and btw, this is IN ENGINE" stuff ;) ) .

I always thought that the original playstation was born becuase Nintendo asked sony to build them an optical drive and then bailed out at the last minute, leaving sony to market the thing on their own...

Anyway, now to contribute something (hopefully) useful to the thread...

Looking at it from another angle, i think its great that we're at the point where art direction MATTERS. Last gen we were just glad to get some sort of framerate on an FPS but now we have a whole new set or ctriteria to rip into. :)

I think we are still one generation away from games being respected as an 'art form', where the artistic design is truly aprpeciated by AL people and not just gamers, but the fact that we're clearly headed there is a great sign!

Hey MR!

I know this is off topic but does any one know if the 360 will play music of a usb thumb drive

Yes you're right it's off topic.

(but I think it will if it's in an appropriate format)

If XB360 doesn't support H.264/MP4 then it's not a Media Center. IMHO, if you have own to own MS software/hardware and can only playback MS media formats, it's not a center of anything. My household includes more than just WMV files and PCs.

But you will need the PC on during the whole process...

Which for me is counter-productive...

I'm already doing that wih my X-Box and PS2 (both unmodded) using a GameShark Mediaplayer...

If all you want is to use your TV to view pc files on your TV/Big Screen/etc...

just hook up your pc directly to the TV...

most video cards already supports composite/S-Video/Component inputs right off the bat...

Plus, you'd save on electricity...

So what I don't get is...

Why is it a much touted feature? (It goes for both systems)

I really can't say that's true. Next-gen hasn't even started yet. It could be next-gen with the PS3, X360, and Rev. *shurgs shoulders*
