New HDR demo

Works ok in Opera. It also appears to be sending the correct mimetype:

Black screen only on 6600GT with 77.72 officials

I was told nVidia doesn't support 16bit Z with FBOs (for some reasons), so I added a workaround that uses 24bit on nVidia cards. I just uploaded that, so try and see if that helps any.

Why would pushing the down arrows in the ui increase the values (res, aa)? Seems a bit backward.

It's a drop-down list. If you click to drop down the list it will make more sense. I guess I could order the items the other way, but I think it makes more sense with the lower options at the top of the list.

Opens a small window border, then an error requester pops up stating "No HBO support", with an OK button. After clicking it, the program exits. Forceware 71.89, on GF 6800.

Any ideas why this happens?

Too old drivers I suppose. And I'm pretty sure it says "No FBO support" ;)

Mmm, is it me or do FSAA and the "eye adjusting" not work in the 'free fly' mode?

Since I'm rendering to an FP16 render target you won't get any FSAA. It's the same with and without free fly.

Now I am getting 'something' on my screen instead of a black box, but it sure ain't pretty to look at. It looks like ultra low dynamic range with boxing and color ranges out of whack. At times it looks ok (maybe), but then this horrible error creeps in and ... yeah :D

See pic.

Geforce 6800 Ultra
ForceWare 77.77

ADD: It's also really slow. We are talking ~40 FPS at 1280x960 with no anti-aliasing. That can't be right, can it?

Humus, could you release your chess screensaver using this technology and maybe some bump mapping for eye candy? Pretty please ;)

Well that works in conjuction with disabling AF.. enabled I get same thing :???:

That was freaking awesome!!

Thats the best Brick and wood i think i have ever seen. Man HDR picks up and body slams stencil based Volumetric lighting.

I average about 168 FPS at 1024x768 with 4xFSAA 16X AF with the rig in my sig.

For whatever reason the 6800s are doing point sampling instead of linear interpolation on the blur buffers but still looks better then my R300 with the latest ATI drivers.

I downloaded it with firefox without a problem. Maybe it's because i'm using the "Disable targets for downloads" extension.
It's fixed now. For the first couple of hours it was sent as text, though. The .htaccess changes Humus mentioned on the previous page are correct. This kind of wrongly configured server used to be much more common back when many people checked their pages with IE only. (MS in their infinite wisdom decided to forego mimetype handling and instead rely on the file types defined in Windows' folder options...)

To stay on topic: I now get the same pixelated skybox 'blur' as others have mentioned on my 6800.
