New GeforceFX pictures

3RD PCI slot is closer to being covered than I thought :?

My Santa Cruz would not fit in there, if it did it would be wedged up against the plastic.

I got the full-size images up on my site, if you want to see more details (and info). The board is what you'll see at final, except the duct will be clear. Monday should also reveal a bit more details on the GF FX.

The cooler on this new revision looks like it fits a lot better than the samples we've seen over the past month.

...nevermind. I guess i cannot link to theforumisdown.com

Hmmm - cool me a n00b, but your sites URL is...? :)

Edit: I AM a n00b - clicked on the WWW button...

Matt-

On 3DGPU you're saying:

Second, the GeForce FX series will have two boards in it:
  • GeForce FX 5800 Ultra--500 Mhz core, 1GHz memory clock-- Many of our board venders have quoted $399 (US) as the price for their GeForce FX Ultra boards
  • GeForce FX 5800--400MHz core, 800MHz memory clock--this will be priced at a lower price point than the GeForce FX 5800 Ultra.

Is the 400/400 GFFX newly confirmed? After initial rumors to that effect, it seemed in recent weeks as if we would only get 128/256MB versions of the 500/500 card...

Right, and the angle of the picture is deceiving. I've seen another from the topdown view and the fan clearly obscures the second PCI slot as well as the first.

I'd say you'd probably be able to fit a nic in there or any card with no components on that side.

Yes. Actually there is a pic that shows a nic in that PCI slot.

The back (top) side of PCI cards usually doesn't have anything on it but solder points. Unless you've got a PCI video card with enough memory so that it has chips on the back side, I don't see how the fan cover is going to cause any interference.

Yes, that's official information straight from NVIDIA, so it's the real deal. There's going to be an Ultra GeForce FX and non-Ultra version. As for a 256MB version, I haven't heard anything on that just yet.

Monday is the great day? :?:
Well, depends on how you define "great." ;)

Apparently, no PR NDA were issued for the GFFX. Thilo from PC Games Hardware (German print mag) just started the benchmark runs, asking people in our forums for any specific benchmarking wishes, and posted some first UT2003 results a couple of minutes ago. The magazine will go to print on Tuesday, will be sent to subscribers by Friday, and will be available at newsstands 5 February. According to him, he just got the card, no NDA required.

Hence, I wouldn't be surprised to see first online reviews over the next couple of days.
