So HyperZ is working rather perfect with FtB-sorting, but then what about the overall efficiency of the X850XT-PE or any other chip using this benchmark????
The X850XT-PE has an fillrate of 8320 MPixel/sec. One Frame at 1024x768 needs an fillrate of 0,786 MPixel, so the X850 should be able to render 10579 frames / sec due to the nearly perfect working HyperZ with FtB-sorting, but renders only 430,84 fps with FtB-sorting and 8x overdraw.
So the efficiency using this benchmark is only ~ 4%
Even if we take into account that the X850 can only output maybe 8 Pixels/cycle and not the full 16 Pixel/cycle the mystery remains for me.
So what's going on here?
