Mystery RV250

The comming Radeon 8500XT is olny a 300 Mhz clocked R200, thats for sure. But what sould be the RV250? The olny thing we know about it is that it is clocked around 350 Mhz at 0.13µ, and it has some new optimizations.

Somebody has some specs? Please Reply.

Everything I've heard so far points Rv250 to still being .15um. Of course, thats all rumours.

I researched a bit and got some infos:

There i sgonna be two Versions of the RV250:

Radeon 8800: 350Mhz Core/350Mhz DDR 128 Mb Ram
in BGA Packaging
Radeon 8700: the same just with 64 Mb Ram

Aww...cut the poor translation program some slack! It's not too bad considering those are English abbreviations in German text...and what's wrong with free entertainment?
;)

look at the fire gl 8800 - its based on the radeon 8800 gpu, the fire gl 8700 is based on the radeon 8800le gpu - i think ati will use the same layout for the radeon 8800 / 8700, so it could be possible that the fire gl's are based on the RV250.

I don't know where you heared about a Radeon 8800LE (maybe a R8700?:)) and i think that FireGL is not based on a RV2500 core, maybe the RV250, but if you are so forward thinking ;)

If that is true than, probally there isn't gonna be any Radeon 8700, i don't know where The Inquirer got that  . Ati diden't change the name of the Radeon 8500 because it had 128Mb memory, they just named it R8500 128Mb.

Say, why doesn't someone go here., pick a site, buy one of the FireGL 8800s, and give us a report? All our questions may be answered.

Pretty please?
