I thought login was necessary for seeing anything (that IIRC they were planning some months ago) but apparently something can be viewed still then.

A funny episode is going on: Likes are disappearing from a popular tweet about Musk parroting the kremlin views. This quickly turned people re-liking and re-tweeting it so there is a tug of war going on. But the visibility of the posting has been boosted immensely as a consequence.

What I like more is the excuse that scammers will not be able to pay 1 dollar per year, and that nobody in the articles is doubting it.
Maybe they have finally got that he has too much money and too much free time to contradict him.

Depending on how you have to pay for that 1 dollar, it can be made such that it's much easier to find scammers, or to stop them from doing so again (at least not as easy).
How effective that can be, of course, depends on how they plan to do it.

Do you mean that when a scammer pays 8$ X forgets to perform any crosscheck, but with 1$ it will be easier to remember to do it?

All social media should be subscription based, and not dependent on advertising revenue and data mining.

There should be a service were you pay a single monthly subscription and the revenue of that is devided to all the services you use (Netflix, Disney+, Game Pass, Youtube, Instagram, Substack, Digital Foundry, Twitter, Spotify, etc) according yo how much time you spent on each.

That world will be a better world.
