So as I was saying, I see this as the best looking Xbox game so far.

It also looks to play pretty good too looking at the videos, I think this game is still scheduled for a November release no?

Where are the enemie's shadows? No dynamic shadowing on all characters and mobile objects? Come on, using shadow buffers, ala Splinter Cell, is a nice technique for global shadowing.

Famitsu X-BOX said this winter for Japan, and winter 2003 for US. The coverage on this issue has even more shots than the above in open areas/outdoors.

Both DOA Online and Ninja Gaiden will be the best looking games ever existed on consoles when they are released.

There seems to be enemy shadows in at least some shots. Just one shadow per character though, despite multiple light sources. Oh well, maybe I am nitpicking.

Anyway, lots of shiny shine... someone is bound to be very happy about that.

That's an awfully big weapon for a ninja to be wielding in the middle pics, there! Hehe... It's just good to see not every creature is a glowing purple thing. ;)

Hopefully sometime next gen we'll start getting games that will make weapons like clubs and nunchaku swing, strike, and rebound, rather than every weapon swing through models like butter. (Rather see different reactions from swords, too, but at least it's easier to understand with obscenely sharp and thin things. Hehe...

I don´t think this game is really impressive. Yeah, it looks good, but has many flaws. In the first pictures, this ninja has no reflection. In every single-shot, there are no shadow for any of his weapons. Besides, the enemies in a lot of pics just have a circle for a shadow or don´t have any at all. Also, it´s a big waste that they hadn´t implemented bump-mapping, with all the environments that could have used it. Too bad.

And BTW, Rebel Strike looks way better than this game.

it looks fine, only not as technically as cutting edge as say HL2 nor Halo2, the art direction ensures that (from the fottage) it isn't lagging far behind the looks department.

Man I've heard about picking your battles, but some of the nitpicking about this games graphics is just stupid.

With all of the delays (I was ready to pick this one up a year ago..) this should be a polished and very enjoyable experience.

it maybe linked to a spell...

Excellent texturing and I like the architecture. Also the animation is unmatched!

But... for some reason, the graphics still remind me of Wind Waker sans Toon-Shading. I think its because the models are similarly made. High poly and very rounded.

Of course, WW probably has the more advanced effects, but NG does run at 60...

This game is like DOA on crack! ;)
Superb graphics! Easily the best looking semi-fixed cam console game yet. I dare think it be the best looking semi-fixed cam console game this generation. Only on Xbox!

And the game looks mighty fun to boot.

from what footage was release it does look like the camera is not fixed, and tries to stay beheind the player alot.

waiting for the first demos to show here.

It is like semi fixed. DMC, Rygar, SH, Castlevania type of camera rather than your 3rd person behind the player camera of JSRF, JD.

People who played the demo, said the damn game looks as good as those screens!! Granted im sure it wouldnt be as smooth AAed but godamn the power of X!

but godamn the power of X!

And to think that all the Xbox is is basically a geforce 4 ti 4200 with a Celeron processor and 64mb of slow main dram(compared to todays standards).

That's the power of developing games just for a certain spec for you. This game being done on primitive hardware looks better than most PC games.

Yes, but X-hardware is still the undoubtedly king of consoles 3D. Thats what is to do, what it does and what it matters. PC sme-C. ;)

ANYWAY, todays PC games are pushing the DX8 barriers, rather than moving on to the next level. So it isnt that bad for the X-hardware.
