Looks better but now you can see how crap some of the texture's are. But the strange thing is i get a feeling that ive seen those texture's before, but were.......AHa MGS3

Could Hideo of imported or reused some of MGS3's texture's as a bodge job so that he could get the trialer out on time???

Uhm what textures exactly? :???:

Agreed. The environments are less than impressive, and I'd be willing to bet a lot of the wall textures were just imported from MGS3 to save time (they're much lower res than the rest of the textures).

Can't wait until E3 2006 to see what he can do with the machine in another 8 months.

I didnt see you guy complain about the texture on the character. When we play game we dont look at the wall we look at the character.

It's likely Kojima's team has recycled some of the assets from previous MGS games (Sons Of Liberty and Snake Eater), they might be the slightly higher resolution than what we saw in the finished games, but essentially the same textures that had been used in SOL and SE development.

The MGS4 trailer was a very early build, so it is very likely it's not as polished and finished as the final game will be.

The Gran Turismo PS3 demo also used a lot of old art, as did the early Armored Core demo... I am sure almost all games that are sequels start with some build that uses a lot of old art or slightly improved assets just to test the engine.

Well GT Vision for PS3 was using the exact same assets as the PS2 version. The MGS4 demo had much more work behind it than that lame GT Vision demo. Just the Snake model is absolutely stunning. But the again that was pretty much the main thing in the demo so it had to be good...

Yes, but some pixelshading and bumpmapping layers would put enough new juice to old MGS2 and 3 textures for them to appear good enough for first showing of MGS on PS3.
Not that I'd welcome too much bumpmapping that would be used in places where it'd look out of place, actually I prefer the more muted style of the MGS4 demo... but I know for some next gen just isn't next gen unless every wall has some bumpmapping applied ;)

There were some low resolution texturing, especially on the tanks.... but when you think of that, how much high resolution texturing do you need for an essentially single coloured tank unless they're painted in some camouflage.
Also some of the geometric detail was replaced with low resolution texture work that was quite apparent in some zoomed close sequences.

Isn't it the other way around, you look around you to see what is going on and where to go, it would be a pretty boring game to stare at your character all the day long...

So i just checked the HD video from Gamespot. Wow what a surprise....it looks less impressive noew because you can see everything better. Aside from the Snake and Otacon's model, there's nothing impressive (GRAPHICS) about it.

Really, wow lol a hit from the blind spot to me.

He he, I never notice it before with the other vids, but you could actually see Snake sneaking, peaking, and running before he made the CQC move. I guess bad eyes on my part as well.

"It's what you don't see."

Kojima.:D

How many polygons is snake , you think ?
In fact most impressive things are models and hdr ligntning, which seems very precise ( fp32 ? ).
does x360 can do 64 bits hdr lignting too ??
