Metroid Prime 2 pictures on Gamefaqs

what do you think? I think they look nice. hopefully Retro has not sacrificed the smooth 60fps framerate of MP.

Hard to tell anything from those screens, they didn't look impressive at all, but then again, they didn't show any vistas or anything; those places always look the best in the original MP; when you see an entire room stretched out in front of you...

The visor looks pretty much the same, the gun-arm likewise. Probably just badly selected locations of the game. And, the multiplayer mode was news to me.

That multiplayer mode looked photoshopped to me, and I thought it was just the magazine's mockup of a good idea.

I'm kind of disappointed that metroid prime 2 doesn't appear to look much better, how about at least throwing in some basic pixel shading? I don't expect halo quality, but some fancy lighting effects would be nice. It seems almost criminal these days to release a game without them, even the mario partys have a bit.

I can't say I'm thrilled with the way Prime 2 is turning out based on these (admitedly low-quality) pics... The graphics engne doesn't seem as much improved as I had hoped it would be, it seems more generic than Prime, and if that Multiplayer shot is legit then it will be a nightmare.

I could not imagine a worse way to implement Metroid multiplayer than having 4 Samus' running around all with unlimited ammo and lock on aiming

However I will of course withhold a more final judgement until after E3; too many people have underestimated Retro in the past...
