Megan was born yesterday morning at 9:30am and is 8 lbs and 21" long. Both mom and baby are doing fine. I just came home real quick after spending the night with Melissa to get the mail (real and virtual), feed the stray cats, and then I'm heading back. Megan has a head full of curly hair, knows her father's voice, and is extremely active and alert (she's headbutted me twice already while getting burped).

I can't believe I waited this long to become a father, but I think I'm appreciating it more than I would've in my 20s.

Update: Piccies! :D

congrats man. You better post some pics soon. Its allways a plus to hear that the mother is doing fine. Get as much sleep as you can now because the first two weeks of having the baby home is going to drain everything u got.

Congrats John :) Now, teach her what Bilinear filtering is...

(PS, if you want me to host a few pics, push em across)

Congratulations, John. =)

Glad to hear everything is okay. =)

Hrm, she came out with lots of hair on her head, does that mean it transferred from your head? ;)

Congratulations John ! With all due respect JVD, I found the first 2 weeks to be the easiest. All they do is eat, sleep, pee and poo. After that the fun begins. One peice of advice John, before leaving the hospital make sure you have the nureses teach you how to wrap Megan in a blanket tightly. This helps them sleep better. It mimics the womb. A new life... and your new life awaits you, John. Much congratulations. Does she look more like you or her momma?

Full congrats John. Happy belated birthday to Megan! :)

p.s.: Isn't 8lbs really big for a baby these days? Damn what'd you feed her??!!

hehe you prob know better than me . I have no kids. But i stayed at my cousins for a month after she had her first baby to help them out since the father allwayts had to work. Let me tell you i was wishing for death after that month haha .

Congratulations !

I certainly know the happiness as a father, especially during the time when the kids were born. Did you stay with her during the laboring ?

I was so excited and happy and couldn't help crying when I heard the first sound of my daughter.

Congratulations John.

I hope she'll be nice a nice kid. But if she's crying a lot, make sure you've got some good earplugs (both for your and your kids health). :D

(I'm dead serious about the earplugs, even if it sounds as a joke.)

Congrats mate.. my missus is pregnant too, expecting on November 8th. I can't wait and hope everything goes well God Willing.
