I'm amazed that the PS5 is pushing out an effective 8x the pixels compared to the PS4. 4x the resolution at 2x the framerate.

It's more than I was expecting.

I’m a bit surprised that so far it seems they’re going for native 4K60 with no RT, as I’d take 1440p (or whatever Pro was running at?) 60fps with RT any day of the week.

Agreed, yeah. Nice to see a visible demonstration of the theoretical GPU differential though. It's only early too. I'm very impressed. It'll be a huge upgrade for me.

Surely assume that yes since its only about reflections of puddles, windows etc.

"Beyond improved models and materials, one of the biggest things we have brought to the game is ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows. We now have true reflections on the windows of buildings, and it looks stunning with our new skies and weather....

But it’s not just the environments; our characters have also gotten a huge upgrade. From higher fidelity skin, eye, and teeth shaders to individually-rendered strands of hair, the new tech and detail brings our characters and their performances to new life. "

so no, not just the upresed PS4 version with RT.

I think ps5 gpu is closer to 2070super but nonetheless good informative video

Yeah, it'd be interesting to go back to what they said was the equivalent to the PS4 in 2012 (750 if my memory serves) and see if it still compares today. :)

PS5 = In between 2080 and Super
XSX = 2080 super and Ti

To be exact. Video is indeed informative and well explained. in reality moving forward devs will mostly push for the highest assets quality & polygon ct over any lightning techniques since it is the main factor in order to achieve the "cleanest" image possible. That usually takes most of the "budget".

RTX2060S it is ;)

If it is the same IPC than RDNA1, it is a bit better than 2080 in rasterizing performance or maybe better than this if RDNA2 has a little enhancement from RDNA1 but the Raytracing performance is maybe not as good as Turing and maybe here more comparable to a 2060 Super or a 2070. At least in Tflops side, the PS5 will maybe perform under this because of a lack of memory bandwidth.

448 GB/s for the shared CPU and GPU Yikes. This is the weakness of PS5 and the first shock seeing the spec. It reminds me the PS4 Pro, 16 Gbps module and 512 GB/s would have been much better.

After we will have multiplatform games with raytracing and some without raytracing. We will be able to compare at launch the performance.

I think its closer to a rtx 2070 in that department. A 2070 is close to 10TF in reality.

I dont think the 448gb/s is such a huge problem?
