Looking for a 2500MHz Athlon XP review

Newegg made a typo/mistake, a lot of people have told them this.

I can guarentee you the chip is NOT 2.0ghz default. I'm certain it is in the 1.9ghz range. The reason why is because of AMD's PR rating system.

Let's assume that the mobile 2600+ IS 2.0ghz. Here is why it wouldn't make since for it to be 2.0ghz...

Barton 2500 (exists as mobile and desktop) = 1,833mhz
Barton 2600 (only exists as mobile) = 2,000mhz
Barton 2800 (only exists as desktop)= 2,083mhz

Increasing the actual mhz by 167mhz yields a PR rating increase of ONLY 100 points when going from the 2500 to 2600? Yet, increasing the mhz by a mere 83mhz yields a 200 PR rating increase when going from the 2600 to 2800?

The mobile Barton chips are the same as the desktop chips when it comes to their PR numbers.

I also have 2400+ mobile clocked to 2.5GHz, using aircooling. Problem is that my memory is really suxor so I can only use 166FSB. Been planning of buying new memory but it seems that the memory situation is really bad at the moment. There isn't that many chips that can run even 200 5-2-2-2.

Hopefully after the summer or so the memory situation is better.
I'm using 512x2 PC3200 Geil (bought two sticks back about two months or so ago when they were $75 a pop.... it seems like ALL 512 sticks are around $100 right now :\) and it is rated for 6-2.5-3-3 (running 11-2.5-3-3 at 205 mhz on my nforce2 board---11 really is faster than the lower settings! I didn't believe that was possible, but I tried it, and got 15 extra fps in my Q3 timedemo at 640x480!)

You'd have to spend $160 a stick right now for some memory that does 5-2-2-2 at 200mhz (the corsair xms LL I suppose).

well it doesn't matter what the chip's default speed is anyway, it boots up at 6x133 = 800.

Mine is a AXMG2600FQQ4C T818772K30080 IQFZA0347XPMW...

Running 12.5x200=2500 mhz at 1.75 v.

Haven't even pushed it to max voltage yet, my cooling is not up to the task right now... I'll get that handled and see how far it goes..

small nitpick, the desktop is 1833/166, the mobile is 1866/133
Barton 2600 (only exists as mobile) = 2,000mhz
Barton 2800 (only exists as desktop)= 2,083mhz
So, yes, the mobile 2600+ should be 1933.
However, you can find quite a lot of references that the mobile 2600+ indeed runs at 2.0Ghz (multiplier 15). Does it make sense? No, not really. But in your table above you also forgot to factor in the "fsb bonus" the barton 2800+ has (since this also influences PR rating) - a 133Mhz fsb 2800+ barton if such a thing existed would run at 2133Mhz, not 2'083Mhz (just like the t'bred 2600+; two versions, one 2133/133, the other 2080/166). In fact this chip exists, as a Athlon MP (2800+ barton, 2.13Ghz, 133Mhz fsb).
