Now I'm convinced the system is powered by a 700Mhz+ 8800.

Will you ever stop? What kind of a thread title is that?! This is not ign.
Besides, that's a video for X360?!
What are you talking about? Where did you get the Lindbergh idea, and the 8800 idea from?

1) There is no mythical GF8800 in Lindbergh. G70 and RSX is the top level GPU from nVidia.

2) That trailer wasn't anything impressive.

3) This thread is blatant flamebait, not least because f the un-forumlike title. The fact TEXAN isn't capable of talking about anything other then SEGA and how wonderful they are identifies him/her as a pure FB only here to extoll the joys and virtues of SEGA. Does he/she ever contribute anything worthwhile?

4) TEXAN is our beloved and long gone Deadmeat. And SegaR&D.

Or is there a spell on here that makes everyone forget about it? Why does it not work on me?!

OMG Afterburner...dies....that was an intense trailer. But I don't think theres any grounds (yet) to say that thats not doable on PS3/360.

TEXAN=DEADMEAT??? LOL!!!! I remember him from another forum...oh man...he one of the most dense posters i've ever seen.

Maybe you're just an old fuddy-duddy from the neolithic times when the Deadmeet and SegaR&D roamed these forums? Unlike me, the fresh, evolutionarily advanced next-gen Beyondus Sapiens Sapiens :D

... u trying to say i'm old? :devilish:

We've been through 4 version of Deadmeat, one version of SegaR&D and now TEXAN... How can people forget!?

Look at your join date. Apr 2002  You're ancient history; a walking relic. It's not like people have forgotten deadmeat. Just that we never had the pleasure of meeting him At least none of the younger generation have.

Fine you win!
Well, now you know, and everyone knows, that TEXAN=Deadmeat1,2,3,4=SegaR&D.

You two are derailing the thread.

Keep on topic.

This thread is trash, the title is misleading, the post is misleading, and it's your usual dreams about Sega taking over the world.

I asked you some questions, you haven't answered. What are you talking about? Where did you get the Lindbergh idea, and the 8800 idea from?

I'm still trying to figure out what a video of an Xbox 360 game has to do with Lindburgh, and why Lindbergh is supposed to be better when this video was done on the 360.

~!!!Deadmeat1,2,3,4 - Texan - SegaR&D!!!~

I always thought Deadmeat was an Xbox person. Either that...or adamantly anti-Sony. The fact that hes a actually rooting for Sega makes me laugh hard..I had deadmeat all wrong .

LOL...Derailing the thread. What do you expect with a title like that!!

Deadmeat... ah the happy memories. He was an Internet-wide phenomenon, to be sure. I always felt he was pro-MS as well, but maybe that was just his anti-Sony coming through; afterall Sony is the sworn blood enemy for many a former Dreamcast owner.

You are seeing a Xbox 360 video. Sonic was demoed on a PLAYSTATION 3 dev-kit at TGS and it was also demoed on an Xbox 360 dev-kit at E3 (kinda behind closed-doors).

Lindbergh is SEGA's idea to take an easy to program for PC-like board to stay beyond what a lot of the PC's people have can do (besides those hard-core gamers with overclocked dual core Athlon 64 FX and overclocked dual 6800 Ultra's, but still ) while still being reasonably close to what Xbox 360, PLASTATION 3 and Revolution can do.

I think it was a smart move IMHO: it does not make sense to spend tons of money for an arcade board's chipset (even though we should see an arcade board that moves in the power league of the Next-Generation consoles when they are able to release that arcade board with AGEIA's PPU on it if they ever release it though): you can spend extra money on the screen, on the speakers, on custom feedback functions (strong and localized rumble control, force-feedback, etc...) and other extra/custom accessories that always made the arcade experience interesting :).

SEGA needed a platform easy to work on and to be able to focus on content: still neither Sonic nor Afterburner look crappy IMHO ;).

The problem might come when they do Lindbergh to consoles ports since we go from an architecture which is definately more standard (~3.0 GHz Pentium IV HT with 1 MB of L2 cache and 1 GB of RAM as well as 256 MB of VRAM) and easy to maximize to more custom and harder to program for architectures.

When the Lindbergh spec sheet was released they made no mention of which model the Nvidia GPU it was.

That's because the GPU that it uses is one which hasn't been announced yet. Thus Nvidia didn't want them to reveal the exact model.

http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/pics3/lindbergh.jpg

They clearly wrote Intel Pentium 4 instead of Intel CPU so why couldn't they have wrote nvidia 6800 or 7800? instead of Nvidia GPU.

The only explaination is it's using next years model and Nvidia won't be revealing that for a while.

Lindbergh isn't out untill Spring 2006.

The video is under the 360 section of ign because ign doesn't have an arcade section they believe as there is a high chance for a 360 port they put vid under the 360 section.

Yuji Naka presented the afterburner/vf5 videos himself at the show and said himself they are arcade games running on lindbergh.

All E3 demo's were running on LINDBERGH aswell.

If my sources are correct, Lindbergh is using a prototype GPU that utilizes Sonic the Hedghogs speed by putting him in a large gerbil wheel and has him run faster and faster. Thus powering the Next Next Gen Nvidia GPU codnamed ~Deadmeats Fantasy~.

It's hardly the only explanation. Another one would be a 7800 GTX Ultra (oh the rumors) or a 7600. Each could be plausible. To jump to a 8800 is to asume too much, IMO.
