Don't worry about it Basic....you're not missing anything. Think "Doom3 like hallway, with no interesting architecture and no interesting objects in it, plus some pulsing lights combined with the effect of the video itself fading in and out several times making it damn near impossible to have left any meaningful impression"...and you got it about right. ;)

You'd have to put the knife to my throat before I install WMP 7 or later (or Quicktime for Windows, or Real Player). I can't imagine any teaser worth it.

Basic - Peoples Front Against Bloated Interfaces.

Worked fine on Linux MPlayer as well.

:( But my Linux partitions went the way of the dodo long time ago when I couldn't make DHCP work. Well, well, I guess I have to trust Joes review. :D Thanks Joe.

Why do I get the feeling that the "3D Mark 03" will be released simulataneously with the lifting of GeForceFX review NDAs?
I still find it highly amusing that people come up with this "theory" everytime we release something. No matter if it is a benchmark, a patch or even a desktop picture! :D Some people never learn.

It works fine with WMP-8. It'll just download and install the codec on the fly.
The teaser works fine with WMP7 and WMP8, but they need to download the 9 codec. The older WMP6.x don't download the codec.

Worm,

The obvious can't be hidden the general public is getting more aware, what launched with the Geforce 3 ?? What exactly is a "Intel Compatible CPU"

Come on.. You are smarter than that, aren't you? I hope so..

What exactly is a "Intel Compatible CPU"
A CPU that is compatible with Intel? ;) I think you know this one too without asking.

If you have problems understanding how we work and develope our benchmarks, take a look at this page:

My IQ is not in question here (there is some that think I have the IQ of a rock)..my question comes for the obvious wording that your benchmark requires to ensure that you can take it to the bank...its called X86 in case you were not aware *which I'm sure you were.

Bapco ??

Kyro ??

Splash Screen ??

Performance Analyzer ??

Lod Bias Hack ??

Instead of me proving you wrong, you prove me wrong.

The only thing is, it seems that "every time you release something", (at least, since the GeForce1 release, which is where my memory fades...) timing wise, and also implementation wise, it is typically done in a manner that would be more beneficial to nVidia vs. ATI.

Coincidence? Could be, sure. I'm open to that. ;)

But when the pattern repeats and is predicatble...to the point where 8 months ago people would joke "Even though R-300 will be out soon, the next 3D Mark won't be out until NV30 is"....and they turn out to be RIGHT....well....conspiracy theories are easy to perpetuate. ;)

Maybe they shouldn't have renamed it to FutureMark, but CoincidenceMark instead :D

j/k of course :)

99.957% of the people in the world don't know what an x86 processor is, which is why most companies refer to it as either Intel-compatible or IBM-compatible. You know this just as well as you know how to tie your shoes, you're just trying to claim that MadOnion/Futuremark is alone in this regard to better support your paranoid theories.

Or you just trip over your shoelaces a lot.

They said the same thing about DirectX 9. Given that neither the GeForce FX nor 3DMark2003 is out yet, I don't think you can say they're right on that either. Looks to me like the conspiracy theory groups are 0 for 1 with 1 match in progress.

Wrong

Easily it could have read..

X86 processor
Intel or AMD class processor

Somebody paid a little more $$ to eliminate the other..who has more money.

If you want to make a unbiased benchmark it starts from the PR and then down to the code...Bapco anyone ??

My paranoid attitude is not without evidence, and I'm not the only one that feels this way...your insults are petty as usual crusher, PM me anytime.

Given that neither the GeForce FX nor 3DMark2003 is out yet,

True...though FutureMark is saying "Q1, '03", which nicely coincides with the release of NV30.

Certinaly more-so than the release of R-300. ;)

Yes, DX9 itself, being significantly after R-300 release, is an issue. It still boggles my mind that the first DX9 hardware preceeded the API by several months. That's something else that 'never happened' until nVidia was not the first on the market to support 'next-gen' API features. So I wouldn't say the conspiracy theorists were wrong on that one. ;)

To be clear, I'm not myself convinced of these conspiracy theories...my only point is, there is lots of "coincidences" out there to support them.
