Interesting part is about how they coped with 3DFX people - well, at least they did something with their desgns. BTW - I wonder why tech guy is talking about PR stuff like naming scheme for GeForces. Also worth noting is his opinion about framerate and image quality. Where have we heard that before?...

Did Nvidia's philosophy change with the purchase of 3DFX?
Not too much--we still want to be profitable and we still want to stay in business--so they haven't influenced us in that.

Ouch! Funny, but sadly true. What was the old console fighting game that constantly repeated, "Body blow, body blow!"? :)

With David Kirk I´m usually never sure if he´s presenting technological aspects or doing simple PR. That interview sounds a lot better IMO, and if what is claimed about the merge of technologies with what 3dfx had in the works should be true than IMHO they seem to have taken the best approach there could have been.

The bottomline is to stay productive and to take advantage of all available resources, resulting in a combination of what´s best from both "sides". I got stuck on that one:

Soon we will stop optimizing non-anti-aliased graphics, so that when you switch it off there will be no difference in speed.

Question that remains is "how" soon. Other than that I´m happy about the aspect :)
