Kill Bill

Ok, maybe not found guilty, but they did settle the case for more than 100 million dollars, i guess that just a gesture of goodwill? ;)

Why did the plaintiff's "settle" for only 100 million? No cinfidence that a judgement would be in their favior? ;)

Look if i (a widget maker) get together with 3 other widget makers and agree to sell them for 10 dollars and nothing lower. Is that acceptable? Of course not.

Actually, I disagree partly. If a "widget" is a non necessity item, then I don't really care. If 10 dollars is really that exhorbitant for a widget, then people won't buy it.

It does become a big issue indeed when we're talking about items that are considered more or less necessities. (Like enery, water, etc.)

ps on kill bill, i hear that there is some real annoying red dots in the film. How noticeable were they? I didnt get a chance to see it yet.

I'm not sure what you mean...thre's "lots" of red dots all over the place. ;)

Hell, id settle in a minute, if it means instant cash (to the lawyers at least). on 400 million of fraudulent gains, 100 million is a alot of money for little to no work for the lawyers.

What makes a item a necessity to some is a luxury item to some one else. ;) Music for me is something completly uneccesary. However you stand between me and ROTK, and one of us is going to be dead on the ground. :) Water might be a necessity, but why energy, in particular oil. Up until the last say 60 years oil was not necessary to survive. So why not just let OPEC do what ever they want without any pressure from our goverment. Im sure they wont try to cheat us of any money. ;)

yeah i guess with all the blood whose going to care about a few dots. I just seems silly to watermark the films. if they are planning on pirating the movie for distribution, theyll get rid of the offending frames.

That is indeed a good question. There's gray area in there.

Music for me is something completly uneccesary.

Agreed, and I don't see how music could be a necessity for any one.

However you stand between me and ROTK, and one of us is going to be dead on the ground. :)

Lol....

Water might be a necessity, but why energy, in particular oil.

Energy is needed (depending on where you live) to provide adequate shelter. I never said oil in particular was a necessity though. Though if we were to put in on a scale from "complete luxury" to "absolutel necessity", it'd be more toward the necessity side.

Up until the last say 60 years oil was not necessary to survive. So why not just let OPEC do what ever they want without any pressure from our goverment. Im sure they wont try to cheat us of any money. ;)
They do control their prices all the time by "artificially" limiting demand. This is a sort of "half-way" price fixing. It's a comprimise between absolute free market, and absolute tight control.

Damn you..I didn't notice it when I watched it...but now of course I'll probably be "looking for it" the next time I see it. o_O

BTW...

I hope you weren't "that Cub fan!" Man I feel sorry for that guy...

Great flick my only tiff with it is the switching to black and white for the major fight scene... Bud said dvd would be longer with more nc 17 like content...

This is his 4th movie . Learn to count .

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
Jackie Brown (1997)
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Reservoir Dogs (1992)
My Best Friend's Birthday (1987)

5, it would seem. IMDB don't lie!

edit: It would seem 'My Best Friend's Birthday' was destroyed in a fire before it was released, so technically Kill Bill is his 5th movie

Was Iron Monkey a QT film ?
No. Iron Monkey was originally released in ~1993 in Hong Kong (i.e. long before Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). Taratino is a big Hong Kong action movie fan and pushed hard to get Iron Monkey released in the US. I believe Tarantino may have been listed as a producer for the US version of Iron Monkey because of his work getting the film brought to the US.

P.S. The director of Iron Monkey is Woo-ping Yuen.
