Is It Unethical For Companies To Misrepresent Their Products?

And all the people that are buying PS2s this year will be disappointed in two years aswell no?

Maybe, I don't know. In two years will you still be able to walk into target and ask to see the PS2 stuff? There will probably still be a section for it right along side the PS3 stuff. I can't see the future but I'd wager that PS2 support in 2008 will be better than XBox 1 support in 2006. There won't be any cutting edge games coming out but ther should at least be a good in store-presence by then.

After all. Given historical console lifespans, 8 years support is asking a bit much. 4 years is not. Agreed?

If your personal taste is such that you find the existing Xbox library lackluster and boring and were expecting a radical shift in the genres available over the next two years, you need your head examined. So yes, Xbox owners who bought one 6 months ago who hate sports, racing, shooting, and other action games and were expecting a glut of turn-based JRPGs from Square-Enix to be released in the next 2 years really got the shaft. For everyone who bought the machine with their eyes at least half-open, there's a fairly large library of games with enough compelling titles to keep anyone occupied for a good long time.

If i bought a PS2 today, even without knowing that the PS3 is around the corner ( or so rumour has it) i would get more "support" than the XBOX owners have got.

The moment the 360 hit the streets the XBOX died, so while your head really should be xray´d for making up these sad excuses i´m pretty sure there are quite a bunch of XBOX owners out there that feel cheated. You can wave your gaming list until your arm gets old and rotten, it wont make a difference. XBOX owners got shafted big time, and compared to PS2 owners, they got second hand treatment while the "evil" sony gives 1st class service and support to their customers...

For myself it´s perfect, a dead console is cheap as shit, i can get one and 2 games for only 100 dollars. Excellent...!
