Intel licenses ARM Mali T658?

or more likely, as per the same article:-

One reason that Intel may be licensed to use Mali graphics cores is that it may have inherited a license through the acquisition of the wireless business unit of Infineon Technologies AG which took place at the end of 2010.

Even then it doesn't mean that Intel won't use ARM Mali GPU IP if they want to.

Windows 8 is built on DX11 API. Mali T658 has DX11 support, so maybe they are going to integerate it in future Atoms (Win 8 tablets).

Even then it doesn't mean that Intel won't use ARM Mali GPU IP if they want to.

Of course, however the inclusion of an Intel Logo in a pie chart means nothing in that regard.

And clearly given the non-Intel announcements over the last 5 years relating to IMG, you can be sure that anything relating to other graphics IP would be equally non-announced.

I'm confused. How exactly does Intel being listed as semiconductor partner somehow become "Intel have license T658"?

On the subject of unspecified licenses, who's Panasonic sourcing for the 3D IP in their UniPhier 1 SoC?

Some kind of Mali-400 MP config would seem the most likely. I can't imagine Panasonic are rolling their own design at this point.
