In this thread you WILL guess Naomi 3 specs

I do think the electric speaker is a tad bit advanced right there.

Thanks. I thought about a cup attached to a piece of string (waxed dental floss for higher S/N ratio) but didn't want to be guilty of coming under spec.

well, Lockheed Real3D was still around in 1996-1997, ...
I heard on the grapevine (so take with the usual NaCl) that it effectively died ages ago and that the engineers left for other 3D companies...

Virtua Fighter 5 will have dynamic weather effects on clothes effects, I am sure of it.
Like when you fall in the snow, your shirt will be covered with snow, which will gradually melt into water, slowing your movements a bit. Also, I'd like to see some multi level stages.

Mmmm Seeing how many of the more advanced players' bouts last around 2 seconds, i think that would be a bit of a waste of resources... It would be pretty of course, but by the time the snow has covered the players, and melted, and u notice the decrease in speed, u're already playing in the next stage.....

Still, rain that affects the players would do. Of course, it can't affect them too much or it would change the dynamics a bit too much, not sure how the VF freaks would take that....

Virtua Fighter 3 has many subtle effects and gameplay touches, like stance and such, many players don't even notice them. Why not things like wet clothes, or just nice effects like dust, snow, gras, leaves... that stick on clothes when players hit the ground? I am sure it is possible to both create these effects and to maintain the balance of the game without getting VF freaks pissed of (on the contrary).

Those can definately be done using simple shaders. Although i'm not sure about the "sticky leaves" thing ;) ...
And yes, the day we get real looking "wetness" in realtime, everything will be much prettier... Both the "wet skin" look (which is shiny) and the "wet clothes" look (which makes the fabric darker). I'm sure both can already be done using shaders, i'm not sure why no one has bothered yet...

Shun Di could get drunker (and thus more effective in drunken boxing) over the course of a match, so adding clothing effects which changed the strategy as a fight lengthened wouldn't be misplaced depth in a series already rich in subtle layers of gameplay complexity. A clothing mechanic could be worked such that grappling would be easier where clothing was present and more difficult on bare skin.

Sonic:

also this, an interview of Real3D by Hardcore Gaming:

http://www.hardcoregaming.com/spotlight/r3dint.htm

HGN: On the subject of Sega, how did you work with them on the Model X boards? Did they come in with ideas or specs that they wanted or did you just show them your product? Also what can we expect from Model 4?

R3D: Our relationship with Sega is very much a joint effort where both companies discuss ideas, market requirements, specifications -- basically everything that will go into producing the world's best arcade games. Since the graphics chips and boards we do for Sega are custom for Sega, we really couldn't just show them our "product", because it's not a product until the specs and requirements are set. When we first started with Sega, what we showed them was the sophisticated visual systems we had done for the military. Sega believed (and we believed) we could adapt that technology to the arcade and if this could be done, the level and sophistication of arcade graphics would take a quantum leap forward. Well, as you know, we were able to adapt the technology, which resulted in Model 2 and later Model 3. And Sega continues to enjoy a market leader position in the arcade space. And you ask about Model 4. I know you and your readers are probably anxious to know what's on the drawing board, but I really can't comment on Model 4 or future arcade development efforts with Sega. Hope you understand.
