In Indonesia, we ban ourselves from the internet! (steam, epic, etc are banned by Indonesia's FCC)

Every company that use interent service in Indonesia must registered in government data, that's new rules. Luckily, service like Meta (fb, instagram, whatsapp, etc) or Twitter already registered, so it's like no problem for majority.​

In other hand, Steam office may be not heard this rules. So yeaah it's blocked because it's not registered in govertment data. This rules so stupid, since there are million internet service are available.​

btw WhatsApp and a few other companies are registered using "shell companies" in Indonesia. Instead of thru their proper company branch in Indonesia. Dunno why.

maybe to avoid international issues? like when they are required to provide user data to Indonesian government, they can say "oh, we didn't provide them! look, the at the company name!"?

oh and Playstation, Nintendo, xbox are not registered too. But they are not blocked. Also dunno why (maybe the higher ups have kids that plays PlayStation, xbox, Nintendo?).
 
Well Microsoft Bing.com is listed so maybe they did register and file additional domains with the main entry as well but they're not listed on the GOV website because their system doesn't handle it?

works fine here. probably they banned your IP address? as you are accessing it from outside of Indonesia?

huh that made me wonder. did they banned steam staff IP addresses, so they cant even open the website? that would be hilariously so characteristically Indonesian beaurocracy ROFL
