As for my odd story. The best Japanese food I've ever had was in Southwestern New Jersey. In the grossest neighborhood, right by the highway. Doesn't look like anything but a shack.
Inside, completely authentic. Completely different story. It's unbelievable. So funny to be in Jersey though.
I was laughing with a few friends about this once, but we were all talking about where to go to get good donuts, and gradually realized that every single place that was mentioned was run by Asians. There are 5 donut shops within a few miles of my house, and every single one is run by Asians.
What I want to know is where did they all learn how to make such good donuts?
