Ok, here's the deal. I have $400 to spend (not $500 so please dont tell me to spend another $100 to get X card).

I want to buy the card THIS week. so it has to be something i can order or pick up in stock.

I dont want to overclock it. I'll be leaving it stock.

my current Ti4400 is just too long in tooth.

So what should i buy :?:

If it helps, ill be using it primarily for gaming.

games ill be playing

Battlefield 1942
Battlefield Vietnam
Call of Duty series
Doom 3
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Far Cry
Half Life 2

and whatever else looks good to me.

you might be able to find a 6800 with 128mb of some sort, but with the ones with 256mb and the x800pros are pretty hard to come by for less than $400 and still pretty scarce for more. either it's either that or pick up a 9700pro or better for as cheap as you can until the big cards become more common.

I just ordered a EVGA 6800 GT for 408 with shipping. That's what I'd recommend since it's what i bought. :D

And it arrives tomorrow....woohoo!

I have no clue.

I know my 9700pro and my x800xt pe . would let me play videos on both screens at the same time (just tested my x800xt pe could have 44 screens up and playing at once using quick time with no slow down)

As for games since my 8500 64 pro i've used 1 screen and had the second one up with team speak and aim up. Though i don't know of any games that would let me use both for the game itself .

IF you know of any let me know and i will give it a try

can u try to play a video stream where the player is in the middle so half of the program is on one monitor and the other on the other monitor. On my radeon 9800 pro only one part plays.

yea it will only play on 1 screen. I dunno if hydra vision helps this . Someone else might know

This will work on Nvidia cards if you use Nview's horizontal spanning mode. It also works for games, even in full screen mode (or at least those games that check the available resolutions instead of having a fixed list of 4:3 modes).
