Homeworld 3

I'm not a fan of the new Mothership, its a bit plain/simple/boring looking :nope:
Maybe thats just an intentional choice so people look at the other stuff during these early demos & it'll look better with a bright paint job?
Could be it gains more interesting looking upgrades as you go along?

Really should be having a proper progressive visual ship damage system in these times & disappointed not to be seeing any sign of that, just nice impact & death effects, surely they can at least give us some 'simple' scorch mark texture decals
Arguably 'its not their visual style' I guess but I think it'd really really improve the immersion.

There is a demo out for this during the steam fest. Got through the tutorials, like what i'm seeing. The other notable thing I noticed was it has dlss support but you don't select a preset, just a slider with percentage to scale from. I know some other game did this recently but can't remember what that was.

Here's the trailer for the demo I guess.

Little bit more excited for this than I expected as it's getting closer. I do have 1 worry from the campaign trailer that I chose to ignore in the demo trying to to tell myself it's ok as it's not the campaign. That is the atmosphere/music/voice over doesn't seem to come close the originals. I really loved how they maintained that feeling of dread or hopelessness, every tactical choice questioning myself if it could have been done better and lost less ships etc.

I'll get my answer soon anyway, even if they don't match the originals it's still going to be probably my favourite rts since the 90's.

The PC requirements look reasonable enough. Been a while for RTS gaming on my system but these graphics do seem pretty decent.

What is a "Year One Pass"?

this series look very interesting. I remember wishlisting Deserts of Kharak after a recommendation from @Silent_Buddha , but well, it's still priced at 45,99€ on Steam.

I got it for free on the Epic store, but bounced off my 30th years of disliking RTS starting missions!
oh darn, I knew I had it somewhere but couldn't find it. Maybe what I remembered is that it was on the Epic Games Store and for whatever reason I missed it that week.

Something similar happened with a Tomb Raider game, I purchased it on Steam but I didn't know I already had it on Epic Games Store.

Ugh their bindings suck
It forces wasd wherever they are (I use DVORAK) and you can't rebind camera control.
This is frustrating, I didn't actually try rebind the keys in the demo because I normally rebind alot of things and figured I would wait and only do it once. I normally get around this rubbish by using AHK but it's a problem that's getting worse instead of better from my experience.

Whats AHK?
Yeh @arandomguy sorted it out for you. But you can basically make scripts to reconfigure the keyboard pretty quickly and toggle the script on and off or even change bindings to another set with a key press while in game. I like using a toggle for some things like say aiming/crouching/running which I also find myself having to use it for more than I like and it works for mice and gamepads aswell.
