C'mon, drop the machismo bull!

I haven't actually cried, but I've come close to it in..

- End of disc one in FF VII with Aeries
- Ending of FFX on the airship with Tidus
- Mary's letter at the end of SH 2..
- Ico ending..

Honorable mention goes to the Kingdom Heart's ending!

edit: made some parts a little more vague, though I still wouldn't call any of them spoilers

No, none made me cry, but some like FFVI provided some emotional experiences thru the game. You could be spoiling some of the games mentioned as some people (like me) have not finished or played some of these games.

Tip put "spoiler" in the title of the thread or something.

FF VI emotional? :?:

Only part that I'd consider would be when Celes contemplates suicide..

I shed a tear when Ghost's unrequited love was revealed in Matrix Reloaded game. OK, it's trite, but hit very close to home for me at the time.

I wasn't just referring to sad or emotions that make you want to cry. Its more than 8 years ago and that was the impression it left. Other than that FFX is the only game I'd come remotely close of feeling sadden by the departure of Tidus at the end of the game. Come to think of it I've not played that many games lately or finished them.

After firing the controller across the room in frustration and damaging something valuable, I very nearly cried. Aside from that, no video game has ever come close to making me emotional.

I shed tears (of joy) when I first saw VF4, after years of waiting. That was quite an emotional experience.

ICO's ending and FFVII Aeries death.

The ending of Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty. After first play-through it went sort of past me. But afterwards and on the second time, it was not because it was sad, but there was something. Could be that it resounded strongly with my current situation in life at that time, maybe I was just too emotional then.

I found the Mary's letter at the end of SH2 mostly embarassing, not because of the content of the letter, but the voice acting. It would've been better if it was only shown in text. But the rest of the game... I don't think I could play it again.

FFX left me emotionally totally cold, I can't even remember the ending.

A few games were very emotional for me...

- MGS2: (E.E.)
- FFX: (ending)
- FFVII: (Aeris)

might contain FFVII spoilers...

From those, FFVII probably left me with the most memorable emotions... Thinking back, Aeris led to a very emotional experience... the moment she died, then, as you progressed in the story and found out who she was, her parents etc. Not sure how far everyone tapped in to the story, but there were many emotional bits, including Vincent's story etc...

Those three sequences are some of the most emotional ones for me as well. Also, at the part in Panzer Dragoon Saga where, you know... and in Anachronox when Paco saves the little girl.

ICO ending ... but I think it was more joy than sadness
F-Zero GX ... funny things are happening, when you stop blinking for more than 2 minutes
DC2 ... most disappointing sequel ever

No game managed to make me cry yet (well not in that way)... I think Planescape: Torment got closest... why oh why did that game have to end? >.<

ICO's ending was pretty cool, emotionally speaking, not the ending itself, but the epilogue... the ending itself gave a calm feeling to your heart which was the first time it ever happened to me...

FFX ending was a bit of a tearjerker, when yuna's crying and all that.... although i didnt really cry...

SH2 was emotional but not in a crying sort of way (SH3 in comparison made me laugh)

Kingdom Hearts gave me the most emotions throughout the game, be it joy or sadness or fear or whatever else. such a good game that is...

ZOE2 almost made me cry sometimes for how amazing it looks and for some of the stances and scenes involving Jehuty (the scene where Jehuty stops the train is WOW!!) which are just TOO cool not to have a ZOE3.

DMC was just too B-movie-like to convey any sort of emotion, even in the -sad moment almost at the end of the game when someone dies- as cool as the game itself can be.... same goes for MGS games...

FF7 DEFINATELY hit it when "that thing" happens to aeris, and in some other instances.

MGS1 ending where Meryl dies.... :(

What?! Given I haven't played the game for quite some time... but did she die? Who was that chick at the end then? Damn, I really can't remember...

BTW; London-Boy, I had similar moments while playing ZOE2! Dang! Too beautiful!!
