Did anyone at E3 catch this one?

Painting with Bob Ross video game being developed for the Wii console and possibly DS and PC as well.

This is the infamous Bob Ross of "The Joy of Painting" series that ran on PBS for many years.

There is also a contest to get your own (painted) artwork into the game that starts July 4 2006.

Now this could be a cool application. Teach kids how to paint. Have tutorials and whatnot, and also have a open mode where the user can watch the TV show and follow along on their Wii. Cool idea

I agree it's a very ambitious undertaking to make such a thing come across as feeling natural when using the Wii controller. If it's on dual screen the stylus could work nice tho.

But as I read it the game will have tutorial paintings to follow along on. As you said would be great for teaching kids, and supplmental to aspiring young artists.

Altho many in the art field feel the late Bob Ross was quite a hack. But I've always gotten a kick out of his "mannerisms" and sayings when watching his shows.

Damn you Sony...I've been asking for this on the PS's since I got a PS1.
