Anyone know if it's required to buy an entire new guitar though? If so there's a high likelihood I won't be buying this one....

I can't see why there would be, unless you're switching console versions. (On that note you'd probably have some limited support through adaptors and updates, but possibly not as flawless and simple as you'd like.)

Overall, I'm not liking the UI changes that have been made so far. Ultimately you'll just get used to them, but I don't really see the point of the changes; pretty much none of them are improvements. (Yes, Harmonix took their code with them, but UI is an easy thing to clone. )

Definitely! I have three controllers for guitar hero 1 & 2. Just bought my boy the wireless one, it's a blast.

Pretty big update. You know this might actually be an opportunity for me to get another guitar for the game for when I have guests over.
