The biggest non-racing announcement came in the form of Photo Mode. In this mode you can pose any of the 500 vehicles in locations over 50 courses. You'll be able to use real photography techniques like filters, depth of field, blur and film effects to take snap shots of your cars. It sounds kinda lame, but once you see it happen, you'll start messing with camera angles, zooms, car positions and different locales. Once you "snap" a photo it then "renders" the scene out onto the screen, your memory card or a USB printer. Images are 1280 x 960. The team stated that GT4 and the PS2 could support higher resolution images, but would suck up all the space on the limited PS2 Memory Card. A wall was set up showing many different cars and backgrounds. Interesting to say the least.

That's a cool side-feature.

These vehicles come from 80 car makers as early as 1886 up to 2004.

1886 wow! The first Daimler?

Nice!!! I'd love to use some of those pics as material for my modelling... If only i could connect the PS2 to my PC that is......

Are there any USB readers for PS2 memory cards? If yes, it would be fairly easy to transfer these shots digitally...

Wow! I must say the thing that has amazed me the most with GT4 this far is the drivers' movement when driving.
Go to www.computerandvideogames.com , then to their gt4 preview and check out the E3 trailer from the japanese site. At 3/4 of the video you can see a driver move incredibly realistic :D They also have som pictures I haven't seen before. One from a night track, can't tell which city, but it looks european?

Direct link to the trailer, click the red link ;) :
