GT3 Question

sir doris

Regular
Just got an iLink cable and can only use arcade cars, in fact each PS2 can only see the arcade cars unlocked on the respective memory card, one can get Ruf BTR/ Speed 6/ etc. and the other can't. You can't select you home garrage and there seems no split screen mode. I'm sure I read about 6 player split screen mode using 3 PS2s? Also there are no replay functions? do I have to complete GT mode before iLink opens up or the is the European version missing these features, or did I imagine 6 player mode?

Does anyone know if any of the following is possible with the iLink:

1) use cars in garage in Battle Mode

2) get replays in Battle Mode

3) get 3/4 players Battle Mode using split screen

Thx.

GT3 is supposed to support 6 players via iLink.
None of what I recall is supposed to be split screen.
It's supposed to be six consoles with six discs, connected via iLink.

1,2,3) Unfortunately I don't know.

(I think you are limited to the unlocked arcade cars.)

There are some very dedicated GT3 forums that will have your answer.

I'll check myself, but Good Luck on your own search.

1) use cars in garage in Battle Mode

Unfortunately not. Never understood why, but I hated Polyphony for this. Made the whole i-Link battle pointless IMO. You can use your own cars when battling it out in splitscreen though. Perhaps it was too much of a hurdle to synch the cars from one PS2 to the other. :?

3) get 3/4 players Battle Mode using split screen

Only 2 player splitscreen, I'm sure.

Can't help you out with 2.) sadly.

Phil's right.

I misunderstood #3. I thought you meant across all screens.
Yeah only two windows for a split screen.

Phil here's some good news,
GT4 allows access to your garage for Battlemode and Online play.

Thanks David!

That's really great news. This will certainly give the online-battle a much greater challenge. BTW; remember me from PVC forums? It's been a while! 8)
