I voted "Wii on SDTV".

But wow ! 70 % have either Xbox360 or PS3 on HDTV !

I guess worldwide result of such a poll would be very interesting.

Just wanted to see the breakdown of next gen gaming amongst us B3Ders.

Multiselection poll would have been ideal for this.

[ ] Own a PS3
[ ] Own a 360
[ ] Own a Wii
[ ] Do not own a next gen console
[ ] Primary gaming display is HD
[ ] Primary gaming display is SDTV

Check all that apply :D

For me: Primary gaming display is HD (Monitor)

It is a nice poll to understand some posts on that forum and the difference with what we can see around you. Check the results: I doubt that HD TV as 80 % marketshare in homes :p

Not if you wanted to know how many Wii gamers play on HD TVs or how many X360 / PS3 owners play on SD devices. A multiple selection poll wouldn't show those results.

True, but it also indicates what I think is true, that HDTVs are quite common these days and that in few years even more so. HDTV is not hardcore anymore imo.

I Own a PS3 but i am using my SDTV as the primary display since my LCD monitor is not HDCP compliant. I will get a new monitor first and then will buy the needed HDMI cables to plug in my ps3.

Oh crap, I have a PS2 with a very crappy SD TV and composite cables. It can't even do progressive scan for god's sake. Oh well, the situation will hopefully change shortly as I'm looking to get a PS3 and a 32' LCD soon.

hmm it looks like i have been fed some serious FUD by one of my close friends (who helped me out to buy my hdtv) so...sony is back on my shopping list again.

Ya, it's very common that 720P LCDs and Plasmas list 1080i as accepted inputs, then you just set your PS3 to 1080i and the TV will do the scaling. Since most games are 720P native it will play them at 720P ignoring the 1080i setting in the PS3.

yep thanks all you guys for your help, being a hdtv/hddvd newbie really gets confusing at times (especially if you have tons friends who think that they know what they are talking about ; )

update: i did find a really good ps3 deal and jumped on it, now i'm enjoying the goodness that is blu-ray (bbc's planet earth series on blu-ray is simply amazing ) Thanks everyone again.
