(D) programmers who are willing to downclock the GPU so they can code all night without the annoying fan noise

:devilish:

Hey Rev, at the beginning of the year, you hinted at making a come back of some sort. I think "I shall return" was what you said.

So whats up with that?
Well, that's exactly and literally what's happened. :)

*chuckle* Rev, everybody's a "programmer", don't'cha know....;)
Hehe, that I'm sure of.

I'm also sure that Beyond3D, its articles and its technical discussions have encouraged a number of people to consider taking up programming or at least learning a bit more of programming. That's a very happy thought for me personally.

I'd say I was C also. I'm in the same position as a few of you guys. I am a programmer myself(I know x86 Asm, C, C++, java...), but I am not a 3d programmer per se. Although I have taken one semester of computer graphics (Was taught in java though (blah!), using awt). Basically we had to read in a set of pre defined points that either represented a teapot or a queen (in chess) and display an animation where we scaled/rotated/moved the object around the screen. The professor only went as far as teaching the class the painters algorythm using a method already supplied which would fill in a polygon given a list of points.

Altough I was the only person to turn in a project which used both a z-buffer(I actually came up with my own from scratch it was a bit inefficient but not bad for a first try...) and a hand coded Gouraud shader(using an equation from a book my professor gave me at my request...)! (I showed those flat shading 'programmers' :devilish: )

I put myself down as (A). I don't think a couple of college programming classes and a half-assed graphics engine qualify me for the (B) and (C) categories yet.

I chose C, I am very intrested in the inner workings of video cards and other components, plus I have coded in C++ quite a bit and now intrested coding in HLSL. Plus I am going to Univeristy to further my knowledge in software development and I plan to go very far in my studies.
I have not created any game engines though. :)

..AA has not much sense in 2D...
How so ?

As my biggest disappointment ( apart from how it literally sucks) with GFFX was lack of HOS support, particularly HW tessellation, i'd say i must be B right now.

Seems like asking "graphics programmer" instead of "programmer" should've been more clear.
Not that it makes a difference for me :)
Voted C.
