What on Earth happened to the prices of these things! I can run to almost any store and get a HD cable for my Xbox, but the Gamecube is another story entirely. The cables go for almost $100 on eBay!

Nintendo.....Nintendo.....

Because nintendo stopped making gamecubes with the digital out, and I think they've stepped down on production of the cables.(or demand has gone up to snatch up all the cables)

Eh, it's not the worst I've seen. Sega sold their broadband adapter for like $80(after promising a price of like $15) and only like 4 games ever used it, and 3 of those were also on PC. At least the component cable gives a lot more use.

BTW, importing may not be a bad idea...

Nintendo also sells those cables from their store <a href=http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?currency=USD&storeId=10001&productId=63594&categoryId=44006&langId=-1&catalogId=10001>here</a>, but they are currently backordered. Only $30 US there.
