R350 had a 1/3 transistor advantage because of FP24, and I gather a few other transistor advantages here and there as well. ["advantage" in the sense of size/yield/clock]
NV40 is not low-k, 'tis true, but it isn't not low-k *and* a bigger process.
Then again, if your bus hints pan out, perhaps we won't be able to call this next gen "simarly featured" either. If so, to whose performance advantage remains to be seen.
